What you said sounds like an excuse. Belief is the individual's relationship to his Creator, indepedent of what others may say or do. Disbelievers can manipulate or exploit ideologies for the sake of power, wealth status. They can use anything, including religion. That is why at the heart of religion is belief which has faith accountable to God.

Belief is the conscious realization of our Creator which logically means accountability. Disbelief leads you into making up mumbo jumbo philosophy to justify disbelief.

Belief in God encourages scientific inquiry. Quran 41-53 We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth.

The biggest miracle yet is the Creation of the universe. Science cannot ever explain creation because science is bound by the law of conservation.

Look for the Mar 20, 2019 article published in Scientific American titled, "Atheism is Inconsistent with the Scientific Method", written by a prize winning scientist. Every scientist knew this truth about atheism, and one finally wrote about it to dispel the false notion that many atheists have.

Google about the scientists who believe in God, there are several famous names among them. Being a scientist does not mean he or she is an atheist; this was your false ideological assumption. Science and religion are just different subjects under God. The latter explains creation since it is not bound by the law of conservation.

Again you are stuck with restrictions interpreted and imposed by clergy, there are no religions of God it is only one and has remained that, gradually upgraded to the point where it is valid for all times to come. I am not sure what seems silly to you, apparently you don't have the full understanding of what is actually religion and what is being imposed as religion.

History written by men and individual actions are not religion. Religion are the original divine revelations and books. I don't know what religion or religions you are referring to but mine is Islam and I feel liberated and free to think, I know in my heart I am not a slave to any human, God created me free and I only submit to HIM.

The humans are not created like any other living being to follow a pre-decided life cycle, humans need societies to grown in and societies need some rules and laws to govern. A child left in wild if survived will grow feral, and I don't see any harm in reminding humans that be just, honest, respectful and fair in your treatment of others. An unjust society, devoid of free thinking, backward in their conduct, slave to superstitions and awkward rituals won't progress compared to a society that is just, encourages free thinking, exploits the natural resources in the best and efficient way.
