Subramanian Swamy replies to questions posed by Muslim clerics to RSS on 'Hindu rashtra'

New Delhi: Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Thursday gave clear cut answers to the six questions posed by a delegation of Muslim clerics led by the Sunni Ulema Council's general secretary to the RSS in February.

Starting with a reply to the question 'whether India is a Hindu country?', Swamy said India is Hindustan, that is a land of Hindus and of those others who are of Hindu descent or ancestry.

Later, in a series of tweets he cleared RSS' stand on Hindu rashtra.

However, Swamy also said that the above-mentioned replies are his personal views to be presented to Virat Hindustan Sangam meeting for adoption in Mumbai on May 2 and 3.

The Muslim delegation, which met RSS functionary Indresh in February, had claimed that the latter refused to answer their questions and instead said that a conference of Muslim organisations should be called where he would give the answers.

"We had a meeting with senior RSS functionary Indreshji last night during which we asked six questions, but he did not have any answer," Sunni Ulema Council general secretary Haji Mohammed Salees was quoted as saying by PTI on February 17.

He had also alleged that Indreshji, who is pracharak and looks after minority affairs in the organisation, got "irritated" with the questions.

It's an undeniable fact that religion has caused more bloodshed than all the wars put together. My personal view is that religion is an outdated concept. Humanity needs to change the meaning religion. Like Humanism which is a philosophical and ethical stance that emphasizes the value of human beings, individually and collectively, and generally prefers critical thinking and evidence (rationalism, empiricism) over established doctrine or faith (fideism).

Humanism is a philosophy of compassion. Humanist ethics is solely concerned with meeting human needs and answering human problems-for both the individual and society-and devotes no attention to the satisfaction of the desires of supposed theological entities.

Our country our rules. The preservation of hinduism and hindus is what makes this country secular. Else the shitpot on the west is a stinking example of what can happen when converts try to be Arabs.

By the way, if honest, then this attempt to initiate dialogue should be encouraged to foster better understanding between both sections of the society.

A6: Same as from Hindus & other Indians. Our public policies should be guided by national interests and not by sectional interests. Hindustani Muslims should accept nation's support for Israel just as Tamils should SL.
