Submarines are the striking force of navies. The technology you have is more important than quantity; because area domination is not the job of submarines, but asw surface platforms.. I think a state of art single submarine is more strategic than 3 subs with 1970s technology.In today's conditions, unless there is a world war, there will be no all-out war scenarios such as a complete blockade of the maritime trade routes of the enemy elements. Penetration into the enemy scanning area, point operational capability are the main threats of submarines, and this must be based on undetectability.

Israel for today have 5 but more 4 are on the way. Nuclear armed submarine with the least technology
