I still remember how during our College days we would watch this video again and again to observe the relative movements of different Control surface which resulted in such awesome maneuvers esp the famous Cobra Maneuver

All the latest Russian jets are very maneuverable but in today’s modern air war it becomes all useless when most of the fights will be BVR, there is very little chance of dog fights.

A good dogfighter is still very important, BVR isn't perfect as much as I wish it was.

Even today Western aviation designers are in awe of Russian aircrafts designs. As u say their Electronics package isnt that much for BVR. Russian airframe coupled with Western avionics will be a deadly combo

Don't forget to factor weapons that would be on that aircraft. You won't see something like that full weapons load. Notice every fighter demo that flies like that, it doesn't have bombs or missiles on it?
