SRINAGAR: A shutter-down strike is being observed in Occupied Kashmir against the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Security has been heightened for the Indian prime minister’s visit and several Hurriyat leaders including Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umer Farooq have been placed under house arrest.
Thousands of Indian Army personnel and police officials have been deployed in Sirnagar to stop anti-Indian protests. Shops and schools in the Kashmir Valley remain closed after the strike call by Syed Ali Geelani.
