While that paratroop M-1 carbine is no longer really in use, it is a neat little gun. In 1944, the U.S. Army created a select-fire kit for it, which technically made it very close to the German Sturmgehwer as the world's first assault rifle.

- cartridge intermediate between pistol and rifle
- large detachable box magazine

The cartridge definitely WAS pretty anemic, but not as bad as people think. It had more energy than a .357 magnum. The problem was the little bullet punched clean holes and did not have the velocity to do much damage.

Nice pics overall - can't say I am a fan of all of the bullpup designs in use these days.
