The rising food inflation in Pakistan seems to be the Achilles Heels of the Govt, even after repeated promises of strict NOTICES taken to control it. The lower Middle class seems to be taking the brunt of it as many of them are diving into the below the poverty line. The next few years might be the toughest the general public may have ever endured.

On the Consumer items things havent been that brilliant either.
Consumer prices in Pakistan went up 9.70 percent in June of 2021, slowing down from a 10.87 percent jump reported in the previous month, as cost advanced slower for food & non-alcoholic beverages (10.48 percent vs 14.83 percent in May); clothing &; footwear (9.96 percent vs 10.64 percent). In contrast, inflation picked up in housing & utilities (9.10 percent vs 8.44 percent); transport (17.40 percent vs 13.96 percent); restaurants & hotels (8.76 percent vs 8.58 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (10.90 percent vs 10.71 percent) and health (9.42 percent vs 9.03 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged down 0.24 percent, after a 0.1 percent increase in May

Inflation in the fuel sector is the most worrying part, as IMF is keen to raise the Electricity, Gas and Petroleum products prices much further. This will have a devastating domino effect on the rest of the consumer items, including Food.
Pakistan is a Hetrogeneus nation, it needs the collective wisdom of all stake holders. It will never be a one man show.

Try as you might Nani wont be able to do what you want
She has already made a fool of herself on multiple fronts

They are about the same or less than Indian prices. What's the fuss about? You devalued your currency and it is reflecting in prices.

That chart is stupid. Mutton is Rs900-1000 per KG. Beef Rs450-500/KG . Looks like Fool never went to Pakistan and is posting BS images without verification. Milk is around Rs110. Sugar Rs90/kg.

I brought 10kg wheat for Rs430. thats Rs43/kg.

Pakistan is lucky to have these prices despite 50% devaluation since Dar era of 2013.

Tomatoes prices are pointless. Few months ago it was Rs20/kg, last week Rs50kg and now with Bakra eid being week away is Rs100/kg. It will come down to Rs20kg again after eid. Pakistani govt need to do something to get rid of middle men so farmers can get max benefits along with consumers.

I guess you are right on some of them I rechecked, still the consumer is suffering from massive inflation and the worst is yet to come.

GHEE, COOKING OIL PRICES HIKED UP TO RS30 PER KG

The ghee mill owners have jacked up the prices of cooking oil and ghee from Rs18 to Rs30 per kilogram besides reducing its supplies, ARY News reported on Thursday.

No respite has seen in the prices of essential commodities as edible oil and ghee rates were increased by Rs30 per kilogram.

Sources said that the ghee supply to the state-owned utility stores was also closed as the supplies will be resumed following the new prices.

The manufacturers claimed that cooking oil and ghee prices were jacked up after the government imposed three per cent additional sales tax.

The price of executive grade edible oil was increased from Rs310 per kilogram to Rs328 per kg while the rate of grade two cooking oil was the hike from Rs290 per kg to Rs320 per kg.

In June, Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (PVMA) had threatened to shut ghee factories across the country to protest against the tax exemption given to FATA and PATA industries by the federal government.

It had been predicted that a crisis of cooking oil and ghee is likely to hit the country as the ghee mill owners threatened to close factories for the acceptance of demands.

Former PVMA chairman Sheikh Amjad Rasheed had said that it is impossible to run the ghee mills after the provision of tax exemption to FATA and PATA industries by the federal government.

Ex-President PVMA Sheikh Umar Rehan had claimed that the new budget became a disaster for the ghee and oil industry instead of a relief.

Rehan had claimed that the decision will cause a financial loss worth Rs160 million by the imports of edible oil, whereas, the tax exemption to FATA and PATA industries will result in the closure of local industries and unemployment of millions of labourers.

He also announced that the ghee mill owners will move to the court besides taking every legal measure against the decision.

The subsidy on sugar, power and other things is diminishing, as per govt policy.
Also, if the previous govt was maintaining consumer price by borrowing, then it is useless to compare the difference.

Bro that's the lamest excuse I have ever heard. Being an Agro economy that was the least I expected. I am not comparing Food prices with the West, just do some research on the regional countries.

You cannot grow everything under the sun in 2 years. Agriculture need huge investment right now. PPP and N league ignored it for 10 years. Had they build Bhasha dam that alone would have contributed massively for crop production.

Solution is bring more and more land under cultivation with good use of available water. Make working in farms worthwhile for farmers or food will get even more expensive with imports.

. . .
That is what happens when charssi comes to power. Only charas and cocaine prices go down.
