Let's follow Malaysia:
- Strip the Tamil language of official status
- Take the orange stripe off the Sri Lankan flag that represents Tamils
- Dump the Tamil language national anthem in the bin
- Deny any affirmative action for Tamils
- Disallow Tamil to be spoken in parliament
- Disallow Tamil universities
- Ban the propagation of Shaivism (religion followed by Tamils)
- No Tamil to be on Sri Lankan currency notes, postage stamps, aerogrammes, signboards, government buildings.
- No Tamil to be used for announcing on SriLankan Airlines
Yes, the Malaysians have no problems with the Tamils. We should follow their example.
Why don't you have ambition to follow Singapore which had accepted it's entire population as Singaporeans.
Singapore is more diverse than Sri Lanka when it comes to ethnicity. We have Chinese, Malay and Indians. 65% of the population are Chinese but our national anthem till now is Malay which is around 10% of the population. We might be small but we know 1 or 2 things about unity and staying together as a country.
Malaysia is not an ideal country to be regarded as model state. Indonesia is awesome when compared to Malaysia.
