Sri Lanka & Israel to cooperate on agriculture
Sri Lanka is to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Israel on agricultural corporation, the government media unit reported.
Sri Lanka's Cabinet of ministers has approved a proposal submitted by Agriculture Minister Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena to cooperate with Israel on agriculture technology transfer.
The MoU will facilitate capacity building and transfer of know how and exchange of technical and scientific knowledge between the two countries.
The government says Sri Lanka can learn from the Israel's knowledge in the sector as the country is a world leader in agriculture despite the fact that the land is not naturally conducive to growing.
