86 Muslim Bosniak victims killed during the 1992-1995 Bosnian War will be buried in a mass funeral in town of Prijedor on Saturday. The burials come a day after a Dutch court upheld a ruling which found the Netherlands partly responsible for the deaths of 350 Bosnian Muslim men in the Srebrenica genocide. The Supreme Court says Dutch troops could have prevented the killings. And, as Sarah Morice reports it has reduced the amount of compensation the victims’ relatives can claim from the Dutch state.

Yes, the Dutch and the international community as a whole turned a blind eye to what was happening. Furthermore, the UN tricked the Bosnian Army into allowing the Bosnian Serb army to enter, during the whole war the Serbs couldn't penetrate into the city until the UN declared the town a safe zone and the Bosnian government troops moved out to allow for the Dutch and other forces to move in, however this only allowed the separatist Serb forces (illegal armed formations) to move in and carry out their genocide. Lessons learned though!

I've heard the testimony of one of the Dutch mid-rank commanders involved on Dutch TV once.

he plainly said : the Serbs were better liars than us, deceived and intimidated us to hand over the Muslims.

other than that this seems like a dispute between the Dutch government and their forces where the forces claimed to have been inadequately equipped for the job, and the Dutch government blames at least partially the professionalism of the soldiers involved.

but frankly, i support the Dutch soldiers involved.
a war like they fought in the balkans is not like defending the homeland,
it makes sense to keep your own forces alive, especially if their deaths will not prevent what you're trying to prevent (the slaughter of civilians).
