South Korea & China to conduct joint naval exercise

The navies of South Korea and China will hold joint a naval exercise and military talks this week in China, South Korea's Navy here said Monday.

The navies will hold their fourth joint Search and Rescue Exercise, or SAREX, from Tuesday to Friday this week. The exercise will be held in waters off Ningbo and Shanghai, the South Korean Navy said.

The two navies have previously held the SAREX in 2005, 2007 and 2008.

South Korea will deploy its 4,500-ton Wang Geon destroyer, and China will send a frigate to the exercise, the Navy added.

"Defense ministers of the two countries agreed to hold this exercise during South Korean Minister Kim Kwan-jin's visit to Beijing in January," the Navy said in a statement. "It will be a humanitarian exercise."

The Navy here said the two countries will also hold talks on naval exchange and cooperation this week in China. They will discuss strengthening their humanitarian cooperation in areas such as naval search and rescue operations, as well as holding similar meetings on a regular basis.

Rear Adm. Moon Byung-ok, commander of the 3rd Navy Fleet, will lead South Korea's delegation, countered by Vice Adm. Xu Jianzhong, political commissar for China's East Sea Fleet.

South Korea wants to know how strong we are. They are looking for an opportunity to strike at NK. Never trust them.

Yet we still have parrots who repeats every so often "China will be surround and they will be attacked by so, so, so, so and so".

@ Mr.Gambit: see, I told you , S.Korea is untrustable ally, so US never allow S.Kr to possess Nuke Bomb

Brain dead activities by the Chinese. What does this joint exercise serve?

a new korean war will more than likely be a land war, the navies will play second fiddle unless it really escalates, as in WWIII

It will be naval and land. USA will play to its advantages and attack in the Yellow Sea and Sea of Japan. China will counter them in Yellow Sea as well. Maybe Russia will get involved in the Sea of Japan.

We once had a debate about S.Korea , and Gambit said S.Korea is so diffrent from N.Korea, so US may allow S.Korea possess Nuke Bomb to counter China-N.Korea.

Now, as you can see , Us can not trust S.Korea any more, that mean S.korea Never can possess Nuke bomb.
