A man who carried him self with principal, valour and integrity, his epic battle with Arjuna in B.R Chopra's Mahabharat gave me the goose bumps.Kudos bhai@django This movie (Karnan) was the southern interpretation of the Mahabharat story (from Karna's viewpoint - he is the protagonist).
@Joe Shearer if you have never been yet...you should try make a trip to the great Hoysala temples of Belur + Halebedu...you will see where the Vijayanagar architects drew much inspiration from! They truly compete with anything us low country folks built in our river valleys and deltas!
The rock lathe pillars are very unique...never done before or since!

Karna was from my place : Ang ( eastern bihar) !!Yup when Krishna scolds/mocks Arjuna for being wavering/fearful....he gives the example of Karna as role model for bravery and firm dedication to duty. At that point Krishna could not even reveal the true story behind Karna (which would go on to add even higher level to his character when Pandavas finally learn it...that Karna was their eldest brother, that he knew it and still chose to fight them regardless... given his higher duty to Duryodhana and Hastinapur).
