The demolition of a temple in Karachi’s Lyari on August 16 has stirred controversy as local Hindus say it was a pre-Partition building. The police have sealed the site and the local administration is now conducting an investigation.

Looks like a private temple not a site of religious value to the masses.

Lyari should be declared a cultural heritage site as a whole not just the parts where the major renovation works in the city are being prepared.

No need to drag Hindus or religion in land grab schemes
