What's new

Snow Leopard of Himalayas !

. . .
two at the same time must be rare indeed.

@IrbiS , those your friends?? :D

The species is in crisis and listed as endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List.

Did you know snow leopards are vital components of biologically rich alpine ecosystems of Central Asia and South Asia? Their healthy population is a definite indicator of a vibrant and healthy high altitude ecosystems like the Himalayas.

Know as the ‘ghost of the mountains’ the snow leopard is rarely seen by humans. They are born blind, gaining sight when they are nine days old and stay with their mother till the age of two.
Illegal hunting, global climate change and overgrazing of the already shrinking alpine grasslands by large domestic herds are major threats to the snow leopard population.

The estimated population of snowleopards in Pakistan has now reportedly decreased to 200 to 400. The Karakorum and HinduKush mountain ranges are its potential habitat in the country.

or are you taking about the three cat-angels in your farm??

dogs are a problem for cats and humans the world over.

some years ago, i had read of this pair who spent years in following the wild dogs and capturing their life... what fools !! what criminals !! shooting dogs with camera instead of with gun !!

You imagine less, im more of a animal lover. I have both dogs and cats and other animals living in farm, peacefully. It is all about educating both dogs and cats.Once they realise there is no threat, they live with each other.Socializing both cats and dogs with each other will make them friends for a long time. The dogs guard our farm, the cats take care of the rodents.
Dhols are native to South India and UP area, they don't operate in Himalayan ranges :p:
But hunting for their skin has led these snow lepoards to extinction, there are still present in Himalayan range of Bharat, but they are very camera shy.
.We let them be that way as the Yeti :)
Snow leopard kills 63 kids (goat) in a single attack in Gya

cats are gentle and very friendly creatures and will make friends with birds, dolphins and other creatures... but cats and dogs are different and that is how it should be.

i hate dogs to the extreme and it is because of them that cats are almost extinct in india... there must be less than 80,000 small cats all over india.

i know, that is why my surprise... i suppose you just quoted that part of my post to reply to me instead of tagging me.

yeti?? no one has ever proved existence of yeti.

nice !!

i don't believe snow leopards, especially a single one, killed all those baby goats... it would have been the dogs those ladakhi villagers were allowing to grow in number... the villagers are biased against the leopards... we have seen how brutally idiotic villagers in maharashtra especially have killed leopards... no, it is the dogs.

by the way, this ( Krupakar-Senani - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ) was the dog-photographing pair i spoke of in the last post.

Cats are never gentle, they will kill the offspring of another cat and try to make their own, while dogs and wolves will adopt the pups of another litter. That is hard wired in their brains as increasing their pack.
Never trust a cat
Now if i look deep into Sigmund freud i know where this affiliation with cats comes from.

Bharat will adopt any Refugees and give them shelter,Like Dogs and Wolves.

Middle east won't recognize anyone other than their blood and genepool as their own and hence,You kill others who are not you.Lions kill other cubs when they take over the Pride,

This Phenomena is seen in Jihad and especially among Muslims, where they slaughter the male population and want to breed with the females, as is evident from your Hate of Hindu Males and letting the Hindu Females off to be reeducated a la Islamic conquest style.

So no wonder you like to finish us Hindu males off,but that is never going to happen here in Bharat. We always fight and you know what happens next.
Be prepared for it,

The fascination of Cats and why many of the Peaceful Religion admire it, is evident.

Why on earth are you picking on Jamahir?

I am a dog person myself.
