'Slumdog' Child star's home torn down

Ya a big deal, lots of other ppls home were also torn down, but no know gives a crap for them, why? bcoz they are not famous. :tsk:. And suddenly 'Slumdog' Child star's home is torn down then its a big deal.. If the house is illegal then it has to be bought down.

just another day in the ghetto !!!!

I don't see where Bombay Coppers or authority are wrong..... they are doing their job.

there is a deeper and serious problem just letting this kid loose means nothing.

there are many amoung us. illegal shyt should be down, if no then this slum will make whole city a slum - its like cancer.

remove the defected part or you die. I like what supreme court did. Need to take some harsh steps they will seem inhumane to some but in future they will yield some good result.

^^^^ Bombay choppers are absolutely corrupt..... they raze these houses on bombay high court order but dont make sure they dont come up again..... by now azhar would have already started construction of their house there....
even the slum rehab apartments they get is leased out and interestingly they start living in the basement of that same building...... mumbai is fultoo corrupt I can get this page filled up with different jhool that happen in mumbai....

The only positive thing that could come out of this story is that now the Government would take a notice to this in order to save it's face in front of the International media. Which means that MAYBE the other unfortunate people from that slum wouldn't have to go through an ordeal like this again. Or better yet, raise their homes at a 'legal' site.

well actually not all people living in slums are unfortunate...... things are not the way you guys think.... a 10x10 cubicle at dharavi would fetch you Rs.10 lakh or better if this is located at Bandra kurla complex would fetch you Rs.90 lakh :cheesy:
slum in mumbai has different definition; not precisely poverty, dharavi is a big black market you'll get petrol here at 2 rupee less than the actual market price; you'll get loan as low as @2% pa.; get currency without passport; you'll see 7 series & audi on these narrow lanes:)

When are you planning to buy a nice little 'Cubicle' in that slum? After all, the economy's been really bad lately. I bet all those 'features' could lighten up anyone's life. ;)

The only bad thing about this is that there are hundreds of thousands of such more illegal houses occupying govt land and they can't be moved out because govt 'legalised' them, i.e. gifted the land to them for free.

I live in America and our country would never treat the poor the way India does. We provide affordable housing, job training and provide medical and dental care to the poor people. I think is is a country's obligation to help the poor. We are talking about human beings, not animals.

Illigal is Illigal.

Whether slumdog star or some sadhu.

I dont know why there is a hoopla about this news.

King Julien, you would be aware of how thing work over here. If they take precautionary steps to stop these houses from being re-constructed again, what will they do? they need some thing to demolish later. You know what i mean. :azn::whistle:

Just like straight outta Compton :smokin:, Brooklyn etc. Even New Orleans is really crappy (before Katrina, and after), Have You even been to your "industrial powerhouse city" of Detriot or Flint?

The Blacks of America have it made lol,

I have been to your rust belt states, down to the south, their living conditions is pretty bad for the richest country in the world, Rednecks eat roadkill on the side of the road,
