Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen has stated that “six or seven” Muslim countries could “make peace” with Israel if it signed a peace agreement with Saudi Arabia, according to a report.

The Jerusalem Post said that Cohen made the remarks while speaking to Kan News following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Friday.

The publication quoted Cohen as saying that “peace with Saudi Arabia means peace with the greater Muslim world”.

“There are at least another six or seven countries that I have met with —significant Muslim countries with which we do not have relations — that are interested [in peace],” the minister said.

According to the report, Cohen said the countries were in Africa and Asia but declined to name them. He later said that only some had been directly in touch with him.

US President Joe Biden is hoping to transform the Middle East — and score an election-year diplomatic victory — by securing recognition of the Jewish state by Saudi Arabia.

In his speech at the UNGA, Netanyahu said he believed his country was on the cusp of peace with Saudi Arabia, predicting it could be clinched by Biden and reshape the Middle East.

Yet, amid urging by Riyadh and Washington that the Palestinians be included in the diplomacy, Netanyahu said that Palestinians should not be allowed to veto the regional dealmaking.

Last week, Netanyahu said the ambitious US-backed deal to normalise relations with Saudi Arabia was possible, as he met Biden in New York.

Saudi Arabia has been one of the biggest backers of the Palestinian cause and has repeatedly stated that it needed to see a Palestinian state before taking up normalisation with Israel.

Washington has been pressing its traditional ally Riyadh to sign a normalisation deal with Israel, which would be its biggest diplomatic win in the region, following similar agreements with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Morocco, known as the Abraham Accords.

Saudi Arabia is stalling for time.

Israel's future partner is Türkiye.

Pakistan will get in line too. Once Saudi does recognise Israel the possibility of a Palestinian state will disintegrate once and for all.

And the pressure will be significant to do so on the sell-out corrupt generals and their corrupt touts in power.

Why are you Hindu radicals keep posting this stuff?

None of these countries even has a conflict with Israel to make 'peace' with them, lol. This is classic Jewish supremacist narcissism.

My take is that MBS is probably stalling for time... and awaiting a face saving way forward.

BUT the time he is stalling for is likely the death of his father who is somewhat... less flexible on the subject of what Israel has to do. Once MBS actually ascends the throne however he will only have to worry about his subjects, including conservative hardliners accepting the new reality. He will have more leeway to do as he pleases. I note that in the recent FoxNews interview he carefully didn't paint himself into a corner over Israeli concessions. No he left that to his FM the next day. A mere FM however can be overuled...

As for Türkiye vs KSA, why on earth not both?

Anyway, as an aside, if you strongly support Türkiye and view it as the rightful pre-eminent regional power then you would be heartened by the predictions of people like Peter Zeihan. He predicts that in the forthcoming collapse and fragmentation of Globalization and the current world order, Türkiye will be one of the clear winners and will dominate the ME. In contrast Saudi Arabia, he predicted, will likely collapse.

This is hilarious. On one hand it's all "ummah" and posting random pictures showing Arabs holding PLO flags, to now saying that you're not concerned and indeed expect at least another half dozen Muslim nations to make peace. LOL talk about lowering your expectations and trying to damage control. You're like a football manager who claims your team are going to devastate the opposition and then when you get spanked, it's all the excuses coming out. "Well with the injuries we had, we didn't really expect to do that well and the conditions were against us" blah blah

And I know it's difficult for you to understand that Indians are behind Israel. But you see, this is natural because they have to live with Muslims too and they know how trying that is - so they empathise with Israel :cheesy:
