ISLAMABAD: The gates of Imran Khan’s house in Banigala have become a wailing wall for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) who travel to Islamabad with requests, demands and hopes.

For many months, people from KP have been coming to Banigala to hold sit-ins outside Mr Khan’s gates. For the last two months, a large number of people have been gathering here for various reasons.

On Sunday, employees of the Workers Welfare Board Schools reached Banigala. On Monday, they were joined by KP polio workers who descended here in the hopes of having their issues resolved.

Tahir Sajjad, an employee of a Workers Welfare Board School, KP, said 5,000 employees were working on contract basis in around 60 educational institutions of the board.

“The KP government has decided to advertise these jobs and have candidates take tests through the National Testing Service (NTS). We are not against the test but believe this should be taken for new appointments and existing employees should be regularised immediately,” he said.

Polio worker Saifullah said they have been facing threats from the Taliban and risking their lives but are not paid enough.

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) General Secretary Jahangir Tareen visited the sit-in and assured protesters, on behalf of Imran Khan, that the provincial government will be contacted and issues of both groups will be resolved.

However, protesters remained encamped outside the house till the filing of this report.

Is it just me who sees it this way, that ppl have faith in him hence they are holding sit ins. i will also add not in any politician's defence in general, sometimes people also come up with unreasobale demands that as a news reader one doesn't know.

Bahi dont get me wrong , sometimes when ppl see their voice could be heard they do bring up weird demands that to a common reader might look fair but maynot be . Otherwise i didnt say anything out of malintention.
Secondly,i fully supported 6 demands though they werent met. You know why??? Cuz if we speak of true again ‘True' democracy ,then there is no room for electoral riggings. And the fact polls were rigged was even accepted in our parliament.

Common man cannot roam around Riwind Palace or NS's model town, lahore residence. Similarly we saw the drama outside Bilawal House, Karachi when a road was illegally blocked and PTI tried to free it from occupation after court's order.

It caused massive traffic issues because the traffic had to go through single lane in front of Bilawal House. This was challenged in High Court, who ordered police to remove those barriers and free the occupied road. But it didn't happen for another couple of years even after courts order until PTI took it with support of locals.

9 - 0 is party HQ, which is usually open for general public. Now only if it is MQM, who has absconding terrorists hiding inside HQ and massive cache of weapons of banned bores is usually kept inside HQ. We can understand why its so restricted from public.

About Sharif brothers, they are probably worst. I have traveled near Riwind Palace, it gives a feel that you're roaming around a highly sensitive military base. The king has his palace highly protected by Police men, and private security guards. Even his Model Town residence gives same impression, they also had a busy road blocked for security until Model Town incident put them under pressure to free that road. The way, NS's daughter beaten the cr@p out of a bakery guy for nothing, is just another example.

Even PML-Q's Chaudhary brothers are not exception. Here in lahore, they have entire road named after their father Ch Zahoor Elahi Road in Gulburg. Now, they are out of power since years, but even today their houses are heavily guarded.

Omg!!! Sooo truee about both 9 0 and raiwand!!!!!! Omg!!!!!! and then punjab has biggest police force and seemingly more than half is with all these politicians guarding them and stuff.

Everyone in Lahore knows about this. That Zahoor Elahi road is in the heart of Lahore, in fact, at the heart of Lahore's commercial area i.e. Gulburg on one side, Canal road on the other side, hafeez center and liberty market on the other side.

I worked in a company for 4 years near Liberty market, right near where Srilankan Team was attacked. This Zahoor Elahi road was my daily route. And whenever someone was arriving at their house or coming out, there was massive traffic jam due to security. That too, mostly in rush hours.
