KARACHI - Sindh government has launched Rescue service 1122 in Karachi through 24 ambulances of worth Rs20 million which is handed over to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, on Monday.
An inauguration ceremony in this regard was held at the Chief Minister House, where Provincial Minister for Health and Local Government Owais Muzaffar said keeping in view the increasing population of the metropolis, a project has been launched worth 20 million rupees.
He said 24 ambulances had been handed over to the KMCs 13 hospitals, including Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases, Karachi Medical and Dental College, Sobhraj Maternity Home Hospital, Leprosy Hospital Manghopir, Cardiac Emergency Centres of Landhi and Shah Faisal Colony, Sarfaraz Rafiqui Shaheed Hospital, Pak Colony Maternity Home, Gizri Maternity Home and other hospitals whereas an ambulance each will be stationed at the dispensary of Chief Minister House and Governor House.
He added that a doctor and a personal of paramedical staff would be present in the ambulance, those provide first aid to the patients in case of any emergency. He informed that the project was delayed since long which completed in the tenure of PPP government.
Earlier, he laid the foundation stone of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Flyover and Madr-e-Jamhooriat Underpass at roundabout of Shaheen Complex and Shahrah-e-Faisal.
Muzaffar said completion of these projects would bring considerable relief for traffic on these locations. The projects will be completed within the period of eight months.
The administrator while giving a briefing to the minister and media persons said the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Flyover will be built on the roundabout of Shaheen Complex with an estimated cost of Rs536.07 million. The length of the bridge will be 175 meters while the Madr-e-Jamhooriat Underpass will be constructed near Hotel Mehran at Sharah-e-Faisal with an estimated cost of Rs458.76 million. The total length of this underpass will be 338 meters.
ANP TO KEEP BACKING PEACE EFFORTS: Awami National Party Sindh Chief and Senator, Shahi Syed said the ANP would continue their unconditional support to the governments action for restoring peace across the country.
In a statement issued here on Monday, he expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of Major General Sanaullah, Lieutenant Colonel Tauseef and Lance Nayak Irfan Sattar.
He said such incidents would affect the peace process in the region. He further said the incidents of human rights violation were increasing every day across the country while the incident of sexual violence with an innocent girl in Lahore was a slap on the face of the society. Federal and Provincial governments should take notice of these incidents and take practical steps to prevent such incidents and punish the responsible.
He said the ANP would continue its struggle for the security and rights of the masses. He demanded the Punjab government to provide security to the victims family immediately.
