A karachi to hyderabad project would def be viable and would be a smarter projevt. Eventually could be expanded to multan then lahore then rawalpinid/islamabad. That is over 120+ million people.

A bullet train is not worth it with an economy like ours - clearly

160 plus range fright train from Karachi to Multan to Lahore, pindi, peshwar makes a bit more sense economically

Actually Pakistan is the right size for bullet trains. Not too big, not too small. Distances are the sort that could be best served by fast trains. They could eliminate short flights and overnight buses. Of course a lot depends on fares.

Bhootnay Sharjeel, first setup education for people, stop trying to have corruption through bullet train now.. bhata khaur chaur.

.
Another lucrative money skimming project in Sindh. Memon and Zardari skim off 10% (or is it 17% allowing for inflation ) of project costs into their own pockets.. just like sharif lot do, which is how they could afford lavish properties abroad..

Pakistan needs Trains needs Faster Train with better interconnectivity between major cities,
A Faster Link Between Karachi, Lahore, to Islamabad
2nd Link Between Karachi Quetta, Peshwar & Multan, Also has a hub that connects both routes.
Similarly, this can be used for freight transport, With Smaller cities connected with freight Pakistan can move a lot of traffic from Cars and Trucks to trains. in a Country like Pakistan, it will do wonders.
It makes no sense to have a bullet train project to connect 2 cities where you won't be moving a lot of people on an hourly/daily basis.
With Trains going from Karachi to Lahore and ISB in 3/4 and Then being able to connect with other cities will have a much larger effect and bring the cities closer.
Pakistan needs a stable, cheaper, and decent service that, its people can afford.

Perhaps the Minister thinks that bullet train means actual bullets.. flying around the city.

Look at the despondency and hopelessness of the people, many ha ha emojis for this could be better news.

PPP has totally, abolutely ruined the province and with it its reputation.

Pakistan Railways has just started a new ML-1 project of a 1700 km long new railway line from Karachi to Peshawar, connecting all the major cities.

Most of the major cities in Pakistan is along this corridor alongwith Indus river which cuts across all of Pakistan.

The train speed would be 160 kms per hour, which is fine for the initial new development, a broad gauge line.

who the hell will travel from Karachi to Sukkar on a bullet train?
are they nuts or is this another way to fill pockets. it will be a flop project.
people living in Sind are so poor that they even travel on train without ticket.

besides such projects run on successful routes. a successful route can be between two cosmopolitan cities. where working and business class travel a lot.

with such an expensive project they will never recover cost and run the project on subsidies which in the end will stop with huge losses.

i have so many reservations about ML1 project which is now going to cost USD10 billion. how will we pay this loan? i find no answer.

are we crazy to grab every lucrative project that is on loan by China? we are digging our own grave.

Orange line Metro Lahore is already a burden and costing 13 plus billions on account of subsidies.

13.80 billion and is additional to the above cost and is being borne by the Government of Punjab. Fare of Orange Line is a flat fare RS 40 per trip, regardless travel distance.
