Sindh government bans renewal of arms licenses
KARACHI: The government of Sindh decided Thursday to restrict the renewal of arms licenses.
The decision was taken in a meeting by the Chief Secretary of Sindh, Aijaz Chaudhry.
The Sindh government has instructed to submit illegal weapons by 11th October.
The provincial government has decided to carry out a campaign against illegal weapons after 11th October. Imposing restriction on renewing arms license, the provincial government has provided instructions to submit illegal weapons in police stations.
The government has also approved door to door checking of houses to recover illegal weapons.
Anyone possessing illegal weapons will face 14 years of imprisonment.
The chief secretary has asked for the records of arms, for the past five years and the information of arms shops and dealers from the Deputy Commissioner.
