That's how you wipe out existence of a whole people from the world's consciousness. We are just a another type of Indians nothing more. There is a deliberate attempt to claim everything Pakistani as theirs. They appropriate our cultural products with just one line "Some white dude made the border, we are one", or some other tripe semantically same as "sem2sem". Our recepies are theirs, our bully kutta is theirs, our ajrak is theirs, our Music is theirs. They claim every God damn thing. Gama was born in India but he chose to be a Pakistani like Millions of Indian Muslims who could foresee what Hindu rule meant for Muslims, a good chunk lost their lives in the process. But it means nothing for these shalaishistanis, because they have an agenda to weaken Pakistani identity, and we are doing jacksh*t to counter that.

Hind in this context means the subcontinent. Read any perso-arabic source and they use this term as a wide geographic term encompassing South Asia rather than referring specifically to the territories of the post colonial political entity called "India".

I don’t get it. The man was born in British India way back in 1878. I don’t see any harm in both Indians and Pakistanis feeling proud of him. He’s part of both of our collective history — unless someone here wants to deny that as well

By all means, claim him, celebrate him. Let us Indians do our own thing too. It’s just a Google doodle and I cannot see the “Indian state” having influenced its creation (or associated international press reporting) in any way.

First, it was Hindustan before 1947 from frontier to Sylhat. Anyone inside this was generally called Hindustani or by Goras as Indian.

Second its our Stupidity that we disown the legacy of Hindustan and making our own twisted version of Muslim Pakistan. Be it Gangu or Jamnu, Why are we so worried about losing our legacy when we dont care about it and are more happy owing Turks Central Asians Arabs and Persians.
If you Ignore what happened between 100 to 500 years and run after what happened 600 to 1000 years before then gangus will even own your ancestors.
