Do PA or SSG of PA or Elite units of police use silenced weapons?? Like MP5SD etc. If no then how beneficial is it for the army to have them and how soon can we expect them to be in service with PA.

.
ni info about this but heads of to you that u thought very important part of warfare silenced guns which are very very important for special operations

.
I was expecting a lot of input in this thread. No one interested.

Not sure about Police units, but SSG guys do have the silencers for their MP5s. Not sure about the heavier ones.

May be the latest SWAT units of Police may be equipped with their MP5s with silencers.

And i believe POF does makes the silencers for MP5s.

And its illegal for public in Pakistan.

.
FC also uses silencers for there guns during raids on compunds or urban or such scenerios.Silencers are available for almost all guns like AK 56,AK74 MP5A4 and others like stryl aug etc.

. . .
All SSG units will most definately have them and they are always acrried in pack along with other equipment. This is a MUSt when it comes to recce operations in Indian territory which will be carried out even now. Both India and Pakistan will be doing this right now and siliencers are always attached to avoid pinpointing their location if a sentry picks them up. It gives them the chance to escape or if further orders are given to conduct it successfully.

I know the Police in the UK are equipped with them but only the specialist units, not too sure about Police in Pakistan.

never seen any pictures of silenced weapons being used by PA / security forces.

Armies and its generally associated units DO NOT NEED any silencers for their assault weapons! However, for highly specialized ops such as HVT assassinations, behind enemy line silent assault by Special Forces etc, silencers are used on sniper rifles and smaller bore hand held pistols and even SMG's in order to prevent detection due to the noise generated by the fire. The new trend with some spec op units is to use highly accurate and deadly but completely silent bow-and-arrow guns!

That is true XYON. If you look closely at my photo in the avatar, that too is an MP5 but without the silencer or magazine, as I was on a training Op at the time. You should be able to make out the retractable butt and front iron sight.

The side arm is a beretta for training and for silly reasons a Glock for operational purposes.

However, having used a silencer I know it takes out the punch from an MP5 though. Although a dealy weapon it isnt very powerful, like a P90

I know the H&K MP-5 very well having fired it with the SSG. I have a Beretta 92FS and the FNH P90 so also am aware of performance of both weapons.

FNH P90 is fast becoming the weapon of choice for some Special Forces however its drawback remains its unique caliber i.e 5.7mm!!

Hey man, nice to hear from someone who has been and experienced the use of these weapons.

The P90 was found to outperform the MP5 in some areas, its only drawback was that the P90 failed the break test, where they drop the MP5 and P90 from a given height. The MP5 was better in that test and also the P90 doesn't look like a firearm as compared to the MP5, hence here in the UK it was not adopted as when we challenge hostiles, they may not be able to rcognise the P90 being pointed at them as a firearm and hence may do something stupid enough to get themselves shot. Hard to understand that silly logic but hey, I don't make the rules.

I used the baretta 92F, very good sidearm when you get to grips with it, basic and easy to clean.

If Pakistan army replaced its G-3 by This gun then you would see a lot of silencers .

HK-417 .

.
These are not Pakistani but we can change G3 and MP5 to silenced weapon.
