Should we trade Kim?

Honestly, lets think about the following option:

J and SK kick out US bases out of the region, and, in exchange, we give them Kim.

My thinking is very analogous to North Vietnam. Probably, we didn't get the best ally, by we are now blessed with US being finally kicked out of Indochina, and it cutting at the root any American attempt at "Guatemalisation" of the region.

Why?

because:

1)Reunification will never happen cos Kim and his succesors(Kim himself will probably rule for a VERY long time anyway) wouldnt want it- unless it's the South becoming Communist of which, it wouldnt happen either because the US wouldnt allow it. Hence, it would be the Korean war 2.

2)Based on the logical assesment of North Korea's state affairs, she will likely lose the war in any potential conflict(her soldiers will more likely die of hunger on the battlefield, not due to hostile actions), unless China once again of cause, puts boots south of the Yalu river.

3)200000+ Chinese lives were lost in the Korean war- all for fighting another's war without gaining any reward, except to gain a disobedient puppet state.

Not a good idea. The Kims have been betrayed enough in the security council. North Korea is to be the last free place on earth if everything else is lost in freedom and liberty. You want NK to be strong to defend the last and final stronghold of liberty to do good.

Have Kim submit to a ceremonial emperor of the Josen Dynasty in a unified Korea, but two systems. Under the conditions that no foreign troops in Korea. Tradition brings peace.

I read your entire post but it does not address how NK nukes will be neutralized. NK can atleast lodge one nuke using its old rockets.
