Every human is unique and different. From DNA to finger prints to eye retina to thought process. But there aren't enough names to give each and every human a unique name. You'll find millions of persons being accommodated with same names.

Nothing has been done in this area.

What reasons do you find and what can be done so that every human have his 'own' name.

Started to use bar-codes instead of names....

Salik you did it again what a fine idea of starting nonsense thread and wasting others time...

Carry on my friend.

Every star in the sky is unique and different. Yet we have unique names for only a few of them and the rest are just stars.
Try getting a scope and start naming each and every star, and once you are done, I'll definitely tell you why we don't want to name humans uniquely but rather with terms that we love, and many people can love a common word or phrase, instead of every one loving a unique thingy...

I am facing identity crisis lol.

A software can pronounce the bar-code and hence you get the name. Practical.

Humans are living beings not stars.

There are more than 6000 languages currently in the world. But naming area has been neglected for some time.

Theologically, three sons of Adam and Eve are mentioned and each one had different names. After that humans got lazy or what, they started repeating names. Most probably out of love and to remember the deceased ones.

On the day of judgment people will be called by their father/mother names. It doesn't suffice unless deep or complete lineage is spoken.

So definitely there's something missing that we don't have unique names.

I guess you have nothing better to do in life.

For that you will have to ad a number to your name until you have Salik99999999999999...n. Once this gets ridiculous then the naming convention will have to be rebooted.

From the number 9 I remember God has 99 names, all of them unique. The Prophet also had 99 names. But people are content with one borrowed name.

When you know about your 'self', Khudi, you get to know your true name.

My daughter's name is just a mashup of my first name and my girlfriends:D.

We're not very inventive when it comes to naming things.

It is actually good idea. If only we keep children's names with mashup of parents names, it will solve the problem.

Thanks buddy. It's amazing.

Religious self imposed restrictions. The name should sound Muslim, Hindu, Christian, Jewish etc.

Plus the human doesn't decide his name for himself, its others who do it for him and later to change the name is a lengthy process at least in Pakistan.

And somehow I feel the knowledge of languages have shrunken, or they stand stagnant, no new words have been added to their dictionary, I may be wrong but that is what I feel.
