Shooter Heena Sidhu withdraws from tournament in Iran, says won't wear hijab

Once submitted but again highly debatable issue. Refusing the truth from Allah and refusing to cover body as per mullahs dictations two different things.

A child born into a Muslim family is considered a Muslim. If that Child grow up and wishes to susbcribe to a different religion, then that is punishable by death. There is nothing "debatable" about it. I take it you have not bothered to read the holy texts?

.
 you stole favorit tag line of Indians when they target Muslims living in France or any western country where these Muslim women are forced to remove hijab and all the Indian members throng the thread saying "Their country, their rules. Don't like the rules, then don't go. "

No...you are misinterpreting the facts here...If someone has gone on a tourist or business event to Iran, i strongly agree that it is their country their rule..Again, i am a big fan of Iran people in particular as they are one of the liberal people in US among all Muslims...But my point is specific to sports person only. Beyond sports, rest of the things should be followed by the rule of the land.

You are the one who would be used as a fuel to blow others.

I rest my case.

Irani shias are no more different then their salafi brothers kill other but in the name of mutah or jihad enjoy the girls.

Theres a difference , she was invited to participate. As such she is a guest. Making the guest comfortable is hosts responsibility. She has not immigrated there.

You had no case to begin with. You sound like a confused toddler to be honest.

Right and this athlete did not go.

So maybe all those not liking France's rules should follow her example and leave or not go in first place?

@Vergennes

I support both this lady's decision and also the right of Iran to have whatever dress code rules they want.

Indeed I do support what you said in your above comment :).

The big question mark still remains and that is being a woman it is beyond understanding that why all you liberal and conservative males out there consider it your due right to regulate women bodies.

As far as France is concerned or any other such country if they pass such a law and impose it then YES i support the tag line if anyone does not obey that law they should not stay in France.

It is simple as that BUT there the case with burkni was different

I do too, but it's generally the natives who fold when both these ideologies clash in liberal secular Europe.

They apply the law on all sections :) that is the issue here.

There is no such law in texts. It is clearly stated that they are declared murtid means they are out of Islam.

There are instances of killing murtids in different eras by individuals but there no such punishment in Quran.

Well she should cover her head, right? So she should be allowed to wear a cap and compete, why insist on hijab or Islamic attire? I hope the next tournament is not in Saudi or else :D:sick:

The clash in those countries where they have this tag of secularism with their title, is that imposing dress code on other be it removing hijab or banning full body dress is against norms of SECULARISM.

Being naked or semi naked is not LIBERALISM Or Secularism . Being accommodation to personal; choices of people from different faiths is.

I see Nawaz trying Zia ver2-
he is smart really

he is keeping Modi sweet. "leaks" a story which pleases India
but has given free land to Hafiz Saeed and uses the muscle of Islamic extremists from Punjab to beat up , bully and kill his political opponents.. but if some of these extremists join JeM etc then too bad for India .. oh wait .. he will together with India blame Pakistan army.. same Pakistan army whose army chief has been targeted for assassination few times.

now to make it more interesting he has liberal media and intellectuals like Najam Sethi and Hussain Haqqani (currently under PPP contract but changes sides whoever can afford his paycheck) and ultra racist ethnic but secular leaders like Mehmood Achakzai etc in his good books.. he and his brother might even go to soho in London or maybe bring the bar (and more) to his private penthouse in London to appear non-radical as well to stay out of red flag category of the western governments.
