Shooter Heena Sidhu withdraws from tournament in Iran, says won't wear hijab

You're talking as if this I am the one in charge of changing rules in Iran. Whether people agree with the rules or not is a different matter, however, the fact remains that everyone women in Iran is required to cover their hair. Regardless of whether they're foreigner or not. If one does not like the rule than don't go to Iran, simple as that. You're not going to see them turn off their rules for sports events etc.

Dear friend...I complete agree with you...It is your r ule and your nation...That is the reason, she backed out from do competition. It is a different thing that you make a rule for your nation and even for foreigners too...But even in sports, that is quite unusual at least for me. In India, we do not ask someone to wear as per our custom if someone plays sports.

I mean think about a situation, support Iran host a mega event like Asiad or Olympic in future, how it will treat its guest sports women persons? Forcing them to wear Hizab or not participate in competition?

Their country, their rules. Don't like the rules, then don't go. Simple as that.

Except that it is NOT a private event organized in some mullah's backyard.

It is an international tournament and by definition, you are inviting foreign participants to this tournament and forcing them to wear something that they don't want to wear.

Why force others to follow your customs when they don't want to?

If you can't do that, why host any international event at all?

She did leave- didn't she-

This brings a bad face to Iranians- I was very happy when you people had revolution there- revolutions are for something good- But now I am very sad- You people don't deserve this- word doesn't expect this from you- you have high standards- and I have seen Iranians in general having such standards-

You can always stand for the truth- no matter what- at least in heart If it is as difficult there- remember everything is lost when people start defending wrong- otherwise there's always a hope-

It does not matter if it is a sports event or not. Just because it's a sport event it does not mean their religious code will of a sudden change. If they would just arbitrary change their rules, then people in general would be much less likely to follow it.

YOU GO GIRL

wait you are not going
but I respect her, Mullahs in Iran try to complete with mullahs in Saudi Arabia. in hating women
No they want to save them for themselves so that no young man ever attracted to them and eventually they accept any woman in any number without seeing them just to reproduce more retards like themselves.

If we really see in broad context without keeping India and Pakistan rivalry, Pakistan seems me is one of the most liberal Muslim nation among st Islamic nations..I mean i usually see all of your news channels, and i do not see any one really forcing your women hosts to wear Burkha or Hizab.....
its a mixed bag.. you got to see Pakistan of the 70s it was liberal and progressive
I respect women choice of dress as long as it is free will and not forced on her.

I saw Iranian / Saudi women in Dubai as soon as they land from the plane they take out their hijab and compete each in wearing the most skin tight and revealing dresses. Which means mullah fails to change women desire to be attractive.

You sound childish. One should have the common sense to understand that religious teachings are scared to such people. They will not abdomen them just because there is a sports event.

Iran practises Hijab for all women. It does not matter if they're foreigners. Even if you don't agree with the rule, so what? All nations have various rules. One has to be respectful to the rules. These people are acting as if covering their hair will kill them or convert them to Islam.

This was the ASIAN air gun championship not the Iranian air gun championship not the Islamic air gun championship. Why does Iran have the right to impose religious restrictions on international competitors in an international event?

Why are the rules enforced on foreigners?

What does that have to do with what I said? did I said Iranian women like the rule? A rule is someone that one follows regardless of personal desires. I don't agree with many rules, but I still follow them where I have to.

 you stole favorit tag line of Indians when they target Muslims living in France or any western country where these Muslim women are forced to remove hijab and all the Indian members throng the thread saying "Their country, their rules. Don't like the rules, then don't go. "

Because whether they're foreigners or not it does not change the religious beliefs implemented in Iran, does it? Whether you're born in Iran or not, whether you're Muslim or not, it does not matter to them. As far they're concerned, a women should cover up. You can disagree with it, but that's their rules. They certainly won't deactivate it over some sports events.
