No one can beat manoj bajpayee in acting.Wish pakistan and india have police officers like these who do not compromise on their duty and if yes all the injustice and inequality will disappear in thin air. This is not just a movie scene it,s actually a lesson as well.

He's a fine actor indeed. Started in TV.

Agreed.

Barring a few instances like in Bombay and Gujarat where the police participated in riots at various levels, the police in India have generally been impartial.

@Joe Shearer

As you said, wish there were more police officers in India and Pakistan like Manoj Bajpayee.

By the way, his wife is the lovely former actress, Shabana Reza ( Neha ).

This is not just a movie scene it,s actually a lesson as well.

It is quite an affecting scene.

The outro music is also good.

It is Shool. It has a normal story but the movie became terrific only because of Manoj Bajpai & Sayaji Shinde. Both are from strong drama background.

As far as I remember, the story is good too.

Isn't there a railway station scene in the beginning ??

Yes , the one where coolie demands more money. I found the story to be a little predictable but
the movie was really elevated because of terrific performances from the lead & supporting actors. Manoj , sayaji , raveena & other side actors did a good job. Subtle actors from drama background can turn an ordinary script also into a good script.

Some other good films to enjoy in the same genre are Apaharan & Gangajal , my favorites.

.
Police are invariably corrupt but in most of cases they are not anti national. They take bribe but not at the cost of Nation.

.
Saygi shinde offers a grotesque package and his dialogue delivery is also quite natural. No matter how gruesome the situation becomes he somehow manages to inculcate Lmao -Ness in the scenes, those sudden pauses though  @jamahir

Gangajal, to a policeman's son, was a searing movie. Left me sleepless at night.

In the name of those heroes who lost their everything while defending their countries assets from politicians and bureaucrats. My father was one of them.

Not invariably, not at all. I have met some outstanding policemen (and some policewomen). Unfortunately, the rot is setting in deeper and deeper with every succeeding generation.

What do you mean? What was his occupation?

He was on a management position within Pakistani establishment. I saw these politicians and bureaucrats looting and plundering my country all of my life. Its the same story around the globe.

I miss that Prakash Jha , his style of story narration & theme was so original , subtle & Indian. I feel he has lost that touch now.

I haven't seen Apaharan but Gangajal was a superb film.

Yes.

And his lines about removing electricity from the water were actually said by a Bihari politician.
