We that's a thought provoking argument but it's answer is a bit complex and very difficult to for the people of "patwari" IQ or aren't willing to accept anyways. But I would give a valid reasons to justify the difference here.I have spoken to a few PMLN supporters. They say that if there's a conspiracy today, then surely there was a "minus one" conspiracy in 2017 too.
How do you counter that narrative?
Nawaz Sharif saw his peak time during the nineties. He even got 2/3rd majority Govt. But instead of capitalizing on these opportunities he went out of his bounds in bullying everyone for nothing.
Then he saw his second life with NRO and return to the country. Sharifs never hesitated a bit to loot this country and indulging themselves into massive corruption even after getting a clean slate from the military establishment (Musharraf) sponsored by international powers. They again went on full throttle corruption and money laundering. But now they never tried to hide their will to work on international agenda against the interests of the state and the nation.
Nawaz openly had cordial family parties with the worst possible foreign enemies of the Pakistan like the Modi and Hamd ullah Muhib. There's a stark difference between being anti establishment elites (Anti Generals) and being an anti State personality.
Then another once in a lifetime opportunity arrived for the MNS to restore his tarnished repute in shape of the caught RAW officer Kalbhoshan Yadav. But his anti state mentality utterly defeated him to even name that person for once or criticizing his handlers. He could have downplayed the Generals by actively visiting supporting troops on the Frontlines like LOC, border areas, and War on Terror. But he again failed miserably.
Nawaz economic policy of pleasing importers and trader unions didn't do any good for this country. Instead of making this country an advanced industrial export oriented country, he made the economic growth from unsustainable import based economy. So he wasn't good for Pakistan's economic prosperity as well.
Then the last nail on his political coffin was the natural disaster of the global Panama leaks. He already tarnished his image a lot. People loved a non elected DG ISPR way more than Anti-Pakistan elected PM. So that's why there was a severe disconnect with the public. He never aspired his statements in accordance with the patriotic public sentiments. But contrary to that, he was all too busy in serving his foreign handlers and friends, and had always been too much focused on filling up his own family's coffers.
In the meantime, already a popular star, social worker, philanthropist IK on the other hand capitalized on each and every opportunity presented to him. His firm stance against US War on Terror and drone strikes in Pakistan. IK never compromised on his position of popular support when it comes to the relationship with other countries. The will of the people was spelled out of his mouth constantly. For the very 1st time people felt proud of their PM and his NSA defending their country's narrative how a patriotic Pakistani wishes for. IK never tried to be a sneaky personal friend of Modi when Modi wasn't willing to have peace with our people. When IK took the office every other department or person took a back seat. IK and NSA Moeed Yousuf were the face of the Pakistan in any situation of the crisis. Their firm, uncompromising stance on the national security, state interests and the pride of Pakistan really touched the hearts of a huge majority of emotionally patriotic and proud Pakistanis.
I am not here to discuss IK in detail. But a brief comparison was necessary to elaborate my point and the differences. These are some of the reasons why MNS "mujhy q nikala" movement barely had attracted any people and IK's current movement of truly liberating Pakistan has such huge support and following from the public. And in true democracies, public matters the most.
