Except for byd/Tesla, the sales ranking of China's new power electric vehicle brands in December! Will Vinfast be an emerging challenge force for Chinese brands to go overseas?
First place: GAC Aian In December 2022, GAC Aian sold 30,007 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 107%. The cumulative sales from January to December were 271,156 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 126%, setting a new record for sales growth.

Second place: ideal car In December 2022, Li Auto delivered a total of 21,233 new cars, once again setting a record for the highest delivery in a single month, with a year-on-year increase of 50.7%. In the fourth quarter, a total of 46,319 vehicles were delivered, a year-on-year increase of 31.5% in the fourth quarter of 2021. From January to December 2022, a total of 133,246 ideal cars will be delivered, a year-on-year increase of 47.2%. As of December 31, 2022, the cumulative delivery of Li Auto is 257,334 units

Third place: NIO In December 2022, NIO delivered 15,815 new cars, a monthly delivery record high, a year-on-year increase of 50.8%; in 2022, NIO delivered a total of 122,486 new cars, a year-on-year increase of 34%, continuing to lead the high-end pure electric market; as of December 2022 On the 31st, NIO has delivered a total of 289,556 new cars.

Fourth place: Extreme Krypton Automobile Jikr Auto delivered 11,337 vehicles in December, a year-on-year increase of 198.7%. In 2022, 71,941 units will be delivered. Continuing to be the sales champion of pure electric models of Chinese brands exceeding 300,000 yuan, with an average order amount exceeding 336,000 yuan.

Fifth place: Xiaopeng Motors In December 2022, Xiaopeng Motors will deliver a total of 11,292 units, a month-on-month increase of 94%. Among them, G9 exceeded 4,000 units for the first time, reaching 4,020 units, an increase of 160% month-on-month. In the fourth quarter, Xiaopeng Motors delivered a total of 22,204 units. Cumulative deliveries in 2022 will be 120,757 units, an increase of 23% over 2021

Sixth place: Huawei AITO In December 2022, the delivery volume of the AITO brand and the Wenjie series reached 10,143 vehicles in December, once again achieving more than 10,000 monthly deliveries. Since the official delivery started in March, the AITO Wenjie series has achieved a cumulative delivery of more than 75,000 vehicles, becoming the fastest growing new energy vehicle brand.

Seventh place: Leap Motors In December 2022, the delivery volume of Leapmotor vehicles reached 8,493 units, a year-on-year increase of over 154%. The cumulative delivery of Leapmotor in 2022 will reach 111,168 units.

Eighth place: Nezha Automobile According to the data, although the delivery volume of Nezha Automobile in December was only 7,795 units, a year-on-year decrease of 23%, but in 2022, the cumulative sales of Nezha Automobile exceeded 150,000 units, reaching 152,073 units, a year-on-year increase of 118%.

Ninth place: Skyworth Automobile Skyworth Motors will deliver a total of 3,116 units in December 2022, and export 1,098 units overseas. The total sales volume in 2022 will be 21,916 units, a year-on-year increase of 255.72%.

Vinfast EV motor likely from China.

No one else make EV motor better than China or US Tesla.

If Vinfast's build quality and performance is any indicator then Chinese EV makers have nothing to worry about.

Even Toyota, VW cannot make a combination of decent EV motor + reasonable price.

Vinfast is not a competitor of Chinese.

In the North American market, Vinfast seems to have a bright future. If Vinfast can occupy 1% of the US market, it will be considered a success for Vietnam. What do you think

VinFast entered the market at a bad time-High interest rates, impending recession and massive debt are foretell tough days ahead for the auto industry. VinFast's designs aren't groundbreaking either, something which is imperative in EVs since they lack the aural delights of an ICE.

Time shall tell but I am not optimistic

What you said is also reasonable. At present, the global capital market is more cautious, and financing costs have also become higher.

Vinfast is GoV effort to industrialized Vietnam and it is the BIGGEST initiative in SE Asia.

I guess if GoV and GoC become good in relationship, GoC will help.

Meanwhile Toyota and Honda is heading for bankruptcy,

I admire GoV vision and sense of responsibility for the nation.

We are now at the eve of EV taking over gasoline as per Iphone taking over Nokia 2.0. In engineering POV, gasoline will fade off, and probably fade off very fast.

Below is not apple to apple. In my calculation modern CCGT is 60% efficient. EV efficient from fossil to kinetic will be about 45%. Meanwhile gas fossil to kinetics is about 20%.
