Shiv Sena slams PM Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

.
So while BJP's MLAs are urinating in public, not a rebuke or reprimand from Modi.

. .
While i do not agree with ashok in blaming everything on our PM , i do agree with the fact that swatch bharat has failed on many levels , for instance as we are being charged .50% cest in the programs name but where are the basic dustbins which should be placed ever hundred meters? or the fact that millions of public toilets have been built but no one to maintain them , in some cases the sewage pipes were not connected.
There are many such small details but the devil lies in them .
@Joe Shearer @MilSpec @anant_s your thoughts?

Although @ashok321 is disgraceful in displaying a false flag, his points are invariably accurate and on target; Modi is wounding us deeply as a country, and it is increasingly getting worryingly close to the point of no return. On every single issue, EVERY single issue, there are glaring examples of ill-prepared rushing into action. It seems above all to be an administration fuelled by megapixels; its slogan should be 'Selfie ho jaye!'

And where are you and why don't you take calls, or respond to references on threads?

I have tremendous personal respect for you, so please do not take offense to the following.

Politican's initiatives and political programs do not matter in India or to any Indians in day to day life. There is very little that changes in political leadership does in India when it comes to social programs, whether it is garibi hatao or swachh india or Make in india. As long as people are spitting on every corner they can find, or throwing trash out of the car windows on the express way no matter how shallow or great the vision of any such program is, it is doomed from the beginning.

I know one thing that works in india, i.e. religion. Social engineering using religion was used since ages like; to avoid inflation of cattle in a agricultural society, religion went to cow being religious symbol and voila. Same for folklores of avoiding forests at nights in bengal for the fear of witches on the haunted trees, to avoid the Bengal tiger which primarily hunts at night. Such social engineering through folklores, mythology and religion has existed and shaped the society for ages. The answers are quite clear, the math's and mandairs which have huge following needs to push for cleanup in mentality with the state and center enforcing heavy fines for littering. That to me is the only way forward, If we do not adress this in the next 4 or 5 decades we will be living on garbage pile.

For things such as equality for females, LGBT rights, Cleanliness, religious harmony, abolition of castes, ethical behavior, Environmental protection, Habitat protection, humane treatment of animals, the culture needs to adapt, No government program in India has ever tried and succeeded in shaping culture. Such programs are doomed to be lack lustre, same is the fate for swachh bharat.

Will respond to you in detail mate , busy now.
Do not for even a moment think i take offence to any thing you could say . I love free exchange of ideas.
While you are talking about electoral promises perceptions i was talking about ground realities , and how these so called perceptions are used to win elections. Will elaborate further later.

Absolutely.
But to a great extent civic sense of common citizens too is to blame. i mean in my locality, several dustbins were installed but people don't put trash in those designated locations, slowly the nagar panchayat too has stopped taking any interest and its back to square one.
can't see what any government can do if ordinary citizens don't want cleanliness.

While i agree we lack civic sense , i feel at least the govt must build the infra for a cleaner city . It may not happen this generation but hopefully the next one will feel the compulsion for a cleaner tomorrow, Have you been to delhi? seen how clean they keep the metro stations there? or the trains? people actually ask you to pick up something if you throw trash , I guess its about having pride in something. Ever noticed how clean we become once we cross our borders?
