Need to hike petrol/gasoline price for private car/bike owners instead of hiking public transport fares.

This will kill 2 birds with one stone, high price of petrol for private cars will force public to use public transport which will reduce import of oil and save some forex. Second the extra money generated will be used to dam funding. Bonus will be less pollution.

Agree, but city like Karachi have severe public transport shortages and almost 90% population depends on private transport.
It will create another issue on negligence of particular regions by previous governments and current government will be accused for regional discrimination. This idea can't produce equal impacts on every city.

Well on paper agendas are different things than practical work. Every political party has beautiful agenda on paper.

Pakistan is not like Europian countries, this country is full of natural resources. This govt should look into exploiting these, rather putting more and more burden on an already extremely poor nation.

I agree with the government on this one 100%, second they should put the same kind of levy on electricity bill (that kicks on after so many kw/hour usage and Industry exempt) and Petrol (diesel exempt) to pay off the debt!

Before people get all hot and bothered, remember you can't have it both ways, you can't ask the government not to borrow and fix everything overnight without paying for it.

He is in-charge of Pakistan Railways weather you and I like it or not.


People claiming it's 10R / ticket surcharge on all fairs are spreading wrong information, here is the correct Information; On Rs100 ticket the ministry will charge Rs1 extra and Rs2 on more than Rs100 ticket. For air-conditioned sleeper coaches, the fare will be increased up to Rs10

Note that US, Iran and KSA are major oil producing nations so they can afford cheap oil prices.

Your solution fits only in non-corrupt country. In Pakistan, taxes also go in various pockets, from lower to upper level. So if you increase any tax, it will only fill some pockets and not going to change the country.

Why is a railways company donating when their service is a pile of shit. Fix your own house. Relay some normal tracks and get some normal trains. Still running shit from 60 years ago.

Why should govt face the burden to support luxuries and privileges of people. One should pay for what one wants.

It can goes to any pockets, that is not what we are discussing here. The fact is that the price of petrol is way lower compared to other who doesn't produce oil. Bangladesh's eonomic success also get contribution due to this factor that they limit imports and focus on exports.

There are areas in Pakistan where people and animal drink from the same water pond. There are places where people have corollas of 70 and 80, one part from one scrap yard and another part from another scrap shop. Areas with no public transport at all.
I see how cruel can be a man to his fellow human beings.

You don't seem to get it, do you? Why would govt pay fuel for their cars? Is Pakistan a rich country that it have oil prices cheaper than other countries? Does Pakistan produce oil? Why should the country suffer?

Pakistan's oil prices are way lower than China, India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, etc. Why?
