Bro, China is wher she is today because we are cautious and don't follow the norm dictated by the West. If we didn't contain this shit, 1.4 mil old unvaccinated Chinese will die. Mind you we have an almost 95% vaccination rate but due to our population size. 1.4 million might die.

For Bangladesh, I don't recommend this, because your government cannot execute this and your populace cannot conform to it. And there is a cost benefit analysis done, the lockdown for 35 days caused 40bil$ but mind you the cost to the country might be even bigger if we didn't contain it. If we fail, and 1.4mil.died, next CNN will say, CCP failed Chinese and should be overthrown.

I’m in Shanghai, and I stay at home by the request of local government. I can get rice, vegetables, meat even snacks, some of them are provided by government freely. Life is boring at home, but still not that hard.
We stay at home ensure that most of our population won’t get omicron infection, especially those old ones with poor immunity. Virus like omicron mutates very fast, we will make sure it is under control.

It is somehow seems very inhuman to ask people stay in home by coercive administrative order, but most of Chinese like me don’t have problem with it. The well being of the whole society or the freedom of individuals, you have to choose.

I’m sorry that Covid19 is a man made virus by the states, it will keep mutating to the level beyond your imagination. It a matter of live or death, that’s why we will fight to the end before we can’t afford to control it.

Yeh some of us are under very strict quarantine in some old neighborhood, but we Chinese are mentally strong. We suffer , but we trust our government, and we are very clear about the reasons of they are doing so.

I personally think omicron is the final vaccine , 60% of the world got covid most of it was omicron , they developed natural immunity and the world is open since March no masks no quarantine world is back to normal
Death rate gone down close to 1000 ppl a day in whole world that's negligible
U can't control covid through lockdowns as soon as u open up it wl come faster . Ppl getting omicron and recovering are getting immune perhaps for future variants too

That 1.4 million deaths assume that every single one of the "unjabbed" old will get the virus and this will simply not happen.

China needs to start building up population immunity so that the virus never reaches it's vulnerable in the first place.

BD has actually had around 100,000 Coid-19 deaths when you look at the excess deaths figure in a population of 165 million. China by comparision in terms of population will get 800,000 deaths.

Now do you not expect China to be able to do a LOT better than poor BD? BD now is barely registering any deaths now due to high population immunity as the virus can never get to the elderly in the first place.

China needs to figure a way to allow the virus to spread while protecting the old. The current way will eventually eat up China both socially and economically.

Well, it's surprising that China is still carrying on with zero covid strategy. Remains to be seen how long they will keep.this up though. Since Covid is definitely here to stay for the long term. Except they want to keep living like this for the foreseeable future. I understand that it's difficult for CCP to change policies overnight though given the nature of the country's system/government.

Howwer, this can't go on forever. The only other alternative will be for China to totally sealed it borders and doors from the whole world(restrict all travel and forbid those abroad from coming to the country whatsoever). That's the only way the country can maintain this zero covid strategy for the long term. Since covid is definitely not going to just dissappear all.of a sudden, and all.it takes is for one person to come with the virus in China to spread again. The world will(and is already doing it) just learn to live with it and it will just become like common cold(which used to kill people even more than covid when it first appeared). So no big deal here anymore. Drugs and medecines for covid will keep getting better to deal with it more efficiently with time. So we will eventually have to learn to live with it and move on with life(like the world is already doing(bar China). Can't keep being barricaded like that forever. Not sustainable at all.

Few days ago we started inoculation test of inactivated vaccine for omicron, hope it will help in the near future. Elderly suffers from chronic disease can’t get vaccinated is the main reason what they are fragile to omicron, and we don’t know this virus very clearly especially it’s sequela.

Convid 19 is not a big size flu, it’s a man made virus created by US biochemistry lab.

They brought that shit to China during the Wuhan world military sport meet in year 2019, and termed it as e cigarette pneumonia when it broke out in US back in early year 2019 as desguise.
