US says nations and firms working with Iran's drone program face sanctions

The United States has warned it would take action against companies and nations working with Iran's drone program after Russia used the imports for deadly kamikaze strikes in Kyiv.
"Anyone doing business with Iran that could have any link to UAVs or ballistic missile developments or the flow of arms from Iran to Russia should be very careful and do their due diligence - the US will not hesitate to use sanctions or take actions against perpetrators," State Department spokesman Vedant Patel told reporters.

Anyone knowingly doing business with Iran don’t care, most are companies that have no dealings with America, it’s stupid when they release statements like these and countries who are dealing with Iran usually don’t even know it because they think they’re dealing with companies stationed somewhere else through dummy/shell corporations that Iran is able to cover their tracks

Irans drone programs is already under sanctions so I dunno who else would be working besides some chinease firms

I think a app of that kind could work automatically, at least with noisy Iranian drones.

i.e: A phone in a rooftop connected to a directional microphone with a app analyzing through a FFT (MDCT) constantly the sound in the search of Iranian drone sound signature.
When it detects one, send the sound through internet and even video.

In a android phone with USB OTG it can be added a USB-HUB with several cheap USB sound cards, listening from directional parabolic microphones from every direction.

All of that is great.

Also Humint is pretty sufficient in early warning. It would be very hard for this UAS to fly without some village or town hearing something considering the density of Ukrainian living spaces. So I frequently see on Ukrainian telegram channels about people here sounds in X area and Y area, and they know. Only destination unknown.

Everything ingenious is simple.

Anyone know why Shahed-136 was renamed to Geran-2?

Тегеран means -> Tehran, pronounced Tegeran

It's named after Tehran

Did I get that right?

Won't this method be rendered null and void if they replace the two-stroke engine with a quieter electric one?
