Shabbar Zaidi Finally Reveals Why He Left FBR

Half of the Registered Companies Don't File Returns: FBR Chairman | propakistani.pk

Former chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Shabbar Zaidi, has finally spoken up about his unexpected resignation from the post. Six months after stepping down, Shabbar has revealed that ‘pressures from disguised mafias,’ among other reasons, led him to this decision.

Taking to Twitter, the former FBR chairman shed light on his appearance in a TV show the other night where he spoke about his tenure as FBR’s chairman.

He wrote:
Glad to see politico-social awareness in the masses. Just shared some thoughts on ‘Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath’ yesterday night. The public listened, that is enough. I left FBR, pressures from the disguised mafia, the hypocrisy of so-called intelligentsia.
Zaidi commented that Prime Minister Imran Khan is on the right path and that he will continue to support his cause.
In another tweet, he urged Prime Minister Imran Khan to revisit his decision to shift the PIA headquarters from Karachi to Islamabad.
Having been directly associated with the company for over 30 years I do not see cogent reason. Imran Khan Sahib is suggested to re-examine.

After a long, mysterious silence since quitting FBR, Shabbar made headlines on Tuesday by revealing that Pakistanis have stashed $150 billion in overseas bank accounts and earn peanuts in terms of lower interest rates.
He appealed to businessmen with foreign bank accounts to move their money to Pakistan.
The time has come for these businessmen to think about bringing back the huge sum of money to Pakistan.
Zaidi reflected on his meeting with renowned Pakistani business tycoons who had billions of dollars in n countries like Malta.

You want me to believe Shabbar Zaidi when he was on complete silent mode during FBR chairmanship? What are we going to do with all these revelations when he no longer has any power to reform FBR? Why didn't he speak on media back then?

.
First we need to know, why he was hired on the first placed? Where's record of competitive job applications and fair job interviews.

Is this a crime?
May be he shall also explain the economics behind the high interests rates offered by Pakistan state bank. What's the magic there or is it only paid out of state exchequer !!! If so this is international crime, where IMF is also on board.
People have been earning in gulf and shipping their earnings to Pakistan, what's take of Shabbar Zaidi on that?

Pakistani interest rates are high due to high inflation

Where are these earnings?

I know you may be a closet or open , whatever may be, PMLNer , but come on.
Stashing billions away without declaring them as income and paying tax on them is a crime every where in the world.
unless you live on some other planet, which might the look of it may be true.

He lives on Pmln mafia planet

.
He should flee the country if he can otherwise he is going straight to accountability courts. His rich and famous clients won't save him and nor will the militias he helps evade taxes.

Check my remarks which you quoted, than check the subject, and than give your evidence of me PMLN as well, state your own party position, since you are trying to discredit my questions by labeling me as PMLN.

Now addressing your state sponsored off topic arguments of Nawaz Sharif stashing billions is legal or not.... -
- It's not possible to stash billions without any record... hence the basis of argument is dumb. If it was possible Shabbar Zaidi would not knew of those billions and every one would be doing it, not only Nawaz Sharif.
- Every country charge tax as per local rules, it's unfair to pay taxes twice. To avoid such unfairness, developed world have interstate agreements on this issue. If Pakistan does not have such agreements in place than people are free to save them self from open day robbery by Imran khan aides, in the name of taxes on money earned abroad. While the person him self is a well known money launderer and scandalous, enjoying immunity from accountability.

Whereas tax payers and bank depositors should be treated with respect... it's not granted if some one was born in Pakistan, that he must choose Imran Khan to safe keep his billions.
If Imran Khan wish to have billions of over seas Pakistanis in his pocket, he shall make request not threats.

My principal question remains... how come state of Pakistan can offer more interest on $ account without proving that that money is used to make profits justifying interest.
I must say remarks of Shabbar Zaidi were idiotic. but no one can stop Imran Khan and aides to make simple public idiot in the name of foreign accounts.

Don't remember the date but Rauf Kalaasra and Amir Mateen already pointed out such people in their program way before Shabber Zaidi appointment. But, he brought some good changes in FBR , specially online electronic tax filing etc etc

. .
Truth after retirement is of no use ....he means to say that MAFia didn't allow IK to implement reforms

Reference to the OP he's talking about Pakistanis with foreign accounts and than he singled out Nawaz Sharif for keeping money abroad, without giving any back account details.
I think ruling clergy is trying to deflect attention from oil smuggling worth billions of $ from Iran
