Very strange unless they are replacing US origin weapons with Chinese because M109 are not outdated by a long shot they have just received a massive upgrade. Denel G6 makes no sense either because they recently entered their service.

No need to test; it has been battle tested multiple time. At angola, there was a proverb, it can hit a fly on the wall at 45km and scoot. complete mineproof with full integrated links with forward targetting system systems e.g on uav/spotter; battlefield awareness etc.
