Serbian President: It is good to see China becoming world power | InSerbia News#
In an interview he gave China’s Xinhua news agency, Nikolic points out that it will be easier to preserve both the world order and the UN if there are countries that are against domination of power over law and if they openly show that, just like Serbia and China are doing, and if they manage to gather a large number of countries around them.
It is good that to see a country such as China becoming a world power, as this means that there will be no domination of one country and one nation in the world, that there will be no ambition to conquer anyone and that anyone who might attempt to behave like those who caused the First and Second World Wars will find a great adversary in the Chinese understanding of freedom and people’s right to their life and their country, the Serbian president said.
Observing that Serbia and China and their people had a lot in common, Nikolic said that Serbia and China had never been leading campaigns of conquest and subversion but had always been targets of those who had been doing that, and they had shown the ability to tell from the very beginning of a war which side was good and what was good not only for their people, but also for mankind.
This has been the strongest connecting element between Serbia and China since the Second World War, he added.
Nikolic said that Serbia had been China’s friend when China had been a very poor, underdeveloped country, but rich in appreciation of Serbia’s love for freedom.
