Hit American TV series, ‘Quantico’ — which features Priyanka Chopra in the lead — faced a lot of online backlash after its latest episode portrayed Indian nationalists attempting to frame Pakistan in a terrorist plot. The outrage led U.S. television studio ABC to issue an official apology to its Indian fans.

In a statement quoted by Reuters, Walt Disney-owned ABC stated:

“The episode has stirred a lot of emotion, much of which is unfairly aimed at Priyanka Chopra, who didn’t create the show, nor does she write or direct it. The show has featured antagonists of many different ethnicities and backgrounds, but in this case we inadvertently and regrettably stepped into a complex political issue. It was certainly not our intention to offend anyone.”

A day after ABC issued the official apology, fringe group ‘Hindu Sena’ organized protests against actress Priyanka for “degrading Hindus as terrorists and saying India sponsors terror to “frame” Pakistan,” their press release stated.

The release further added,

“Started her career by crying foul about being ill-treated and being victim of racism in United States, Priyanka Chopra used derogatory reference to India and Hindus in her American series, ‘Quantico.’”

“A woman, who is a daughter of an Indian Army Officer, who got a chance to represent India and was crowned Miss World, Bollywood actress and part of other National and International Humanitarian projects and UN Goodwill Ambassador has stooped to such lows to gain a few dollars and some fame and a desperate attempt to fit in International circle is utterly shameful and disgraceful,” the release further read.

“If she cannot speak good about India and Hindus, she shouldn’t speak negative. Being a professional actor, she always had a chance to refuse to act in the scene or get the offensive dialogues referring to Hindus and India as terrorists modified, but she chose to ignore and shoot the scenes as they have come out in public, showing her disrespect to Sovereignty of India and Indians,” the press release reads.

“Priyanka Chopra has been repeatedly acting against interest of Indian State, be it favouring and visiting Rohinghyas or willfully acting in a derogatory scene referring to India and Hindus. Priyanka should apologise to Hindus and Indians,” the press release further demands.

The press release concluded with:

“Hindu Sena appeals to public in general to boycott any work, ads or movies of Priyanka Chopra and appeal to Indian government to strip her of Indian citizenship and deny her entry in India.”

After the latest episode aired, Priyanka faced online attacks, with some of her followers even threatening to boycott her work and the brands that she has been endorsing. According to Reuters, some others even called on the government to black out scenes where Chopra holds up sacred Hindu prayer beads as evidence that the plotter in the episode, planning to detonate a nuclear bomb in New York, was an Indian nationalist.

Someone got their panties in a bunch . Immature, insecure losers! Easy to bash Pakistan day in day out, but cry like little girls when it comes to themselves!

.
this is so funny to see Indians who make hundreds of propaganda movies against Pakistan with slang insults and fake propaganda can not digest a 5 mints clip of her movie .
Its not just about India, the girl called Hindus terrorists. If a Pakistani girl does same for Muslims. Say she shows that a suspect was carrying Quran and claims the guys is a Pakistani Islamic Terrorist. What will be general reaction in Pakistan?

lollllz its i think same medicine when your Bollywood show Muslim terrorists . lets stay on topic sir its nothing about Pakistan here

Agree. That is so wrong in so many levels

She should be just barred from entering India ever again :D

Shittiest career move ever :disagree:
Better way will be to hit it where it hurts. Write and Tweet to brands selling in India using her as their PR representatives and tell them that they will be boycotted if they don't remove her. Write and Tweet to producers and directors in India who are planning new movies and tell them to not cast her.

Its hard for any business to go back on decisions they make, but before those decisions are made they do sense the winds. If you keep on pushing the businesses before they are making decisions and ask their heads to publicly pledge for not giving opportunity to any anti national person, it will make life much harder for likes of her. Key is to hit early and consistently.

All mean while our government should reiterate its commitment to freedom of speech and liberty of thoughts and expressions. She has hers and rest of us do ours.

Ok.Now here... take your lollipop. Just don't start a discussion in between from next time.
Lol this is not republic TV where you come and walk away with unilateralism. Its neither Modi's india nor indian defense forum where you stop other people from speaking. I know you have to earn few bucks from BJP's IT cell, since its difficult to sustain life on few hundred dollars earned by working at call centers but i just dont tolerate BS esp from a third world poverty stricken indian members.
