The president of Awami League's Dirai upazila unit in Sunamganj yesterday inaugurated a multi-storey shopping mall, owned by Railway Minister Suranjit Sengupta, as the minister cancelled his schedule.

Posters and banners on the launching of the 'Sen Market' were on display for many days at different places in and around of the building, located in front of Dirai Police Station at the upazila headquarters, said locals.

Witnesses said Mohammad Altab Uddin, the upazila unit president, inaugurated the market around 11:30am in presence of a number of political leaders, assistant police commissioner of Sunamganj (Dirai Circle) and Dirai Police Station officer-in-charge.

Altab Uddin, a former teacher of Dirai High School, told The Daily Star, "Upon request from Suranjit Sengupta on Thursday, I inaugurated the market when local leaders and police were present.”

The minister's assistant personal secretary (APS), his driver, railway's general manager (east zone) and Dhaka Division security commandant were detained on Monday night with Tk 70 lakh.

Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) men held them after the driver drove the microbus into BGB Headquarters and told the BGB personnel that there was illegal money in the microbus, owned by the minister's APS.

Aminul Islam, Dirai upazila unit general secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, said the building is being constructed on a 52-katha land. "The construction started few years ago. But it has been launched after the completion of its four floors,” he said.

Dirai OC Nurul Absar Khan said police remained present there on a security ground since there was a mass gathering apart from the presence of several political leaders.

I must say he has got really a bad luck. All of his bubble is busting at the same. Feeling sorry for this guy. In another news I have heard that he has stopped all contact with media.

I don't feel any sympathy for this bloody crook ......

.
Well well, a four storeyed market costs around 20-30 crores
at that size to be constructed, add that with the 30 crores needed
to set up a telecommunications network company ,

yep, there she goes!

I don't feel any sympathy for this bloody crook ......
I expressed my sympathy for experienced parliamentarian Shuronjith Sen Gupta Who recently turned into Churonjith Sen , I am worried , if he is able to tolerate this humiliation or going to sacrifice himself ..............

man should just quit:lol:....but power is a very dangerous thing he won't.

.
If he was not corrupted after getting the ministerial post he definitely is a tax shirker. His income is not that high as he shown.

He has got money before getting ministerial post. Also it proves that what his son is investing in telecom most probably comes from another source.

So I cant announce him as a pure man.He is not unlike other politicians.

(but why i have problem commenting on BAL instead AL)

.
:lol:This is the same suranjit gupto that used to come up with statements of corruption every other week.....oh the irony!

.
No sympathy for this big mouth Awami thief. His property must be confiscated and then he should be locked up. I for one can not be less happy about this new developments. There are enough materials available now to sew the big mouth Awami dogs, especially this dog.

This should be wake up call for those Bangladeshis who still has some soft corner Awami.
