SC acquits Aasia Bibi in blasphemy case

Under Pakistani Law they can, ultimate jurisdiction belongs to Supreme Court, feel free to challenge. We're following Constitution, not Saudi law. Case closed.

Show me where they are allowed to question the evidence under Pakistani law?

. .
People who have never seen an appeal in their life much less written it or studied it or worded or heck never even been inside the court room should not claim to be masters of appeal nor question what the court can and can't do.....

.
I don't need to read that ,because I my self saw that ,listened that what was on TV , and I remember that very well , and I trust those judges who gave her punishment, as much as you are trusting the judges of supreme Court , because the witnesses and the accused appeard before those judges not before this dummy baba rehmata,

What kind of man believes the TV and media, when the first hand evidence is in front of him? Have you ever been to a police station? When evidence is taken, your statement is recorded, presented to you to read and then you sign it as accurate. There is a written record.

In these written record these statements from the witnesses change every time they are given, and say different things to each other.

Read the verdict; are you after haq or are you just after blood?

If you are convinced after reading the evidence you can register a case in the courts and hire a lawyer who can request all the evidence be presented to him
The supreme court cannot decide the validity of witnesses ten years after the events have passed. It is as simple as that.

Why not? The statements are recorded and signed by the people who gave them. They can review them, just like you can, if you hire a lawyer and successfully submit a new case.

From my remote perspective it seems that Pakistan would do well to bring back Musharraf. And I acknowledge that some of you don't like him.

I like him.

Actually, you have proven that you have no shame, nor love for Islam and Muslims. We know very well what deserves arguments, and what deserves the sole of the feet. Don't try acting smarter than you really are. The farce that is taking place in the name of 'judgement' and 'justice' only deserves the trite discredit I am going to give to it.

“اگر میرا بھی وہی خدا نکلا تو تمہارا کیا ہو گا”

exactly .... its better to kill one rather then killing hundreds and letting millions to suffer for that one (not really innocent) soul .

You actually mean it? Oh lord of heavens.

You need to go to Islam 101 and teach yourself what actually Islam and justice in Islam is.

That’s like killing the humanity.

If the credentials of the judges were beyond reproach, why would anyone raise objections? The whole point is that the CJP's decision is pandering to western demands and has nothing to do with actual justice.

Yahoodiiii saazishhhhh.

. . .
We number well beyond the majority. We, the sane people of Pakistan, don't have time to come out on the streets because we are busy with our lives and are actually useful to society unlike these Mullahs who have nothing in their life, who think it is okay to curse, riot, and use violence. Don't take our inability to take out time and resources because we have actual lives to come out on the street as us not existing.
Fitne and Fesat are worse than murder....

On these first hand evidences she was punished and her punishment was kept on by 3 stages of lower courts , and don't tell me about the law system and statement recording stages by police, because I have very good deep insight of it,

Do you? Present me those, original ones. Otherwise, Even I can claim to have the documents of the of a Kremlin overthrow plot in East Pakistan.

too much pressure by human rights activists and foreign hand.foreign governments pressure.the best way to save someone is to erase the proof or threaten them not to justify.everyone knows what happened in this case.liberals here are so happy like someone just give them the freedom.they can offer prayer, they can talk about religion but you can see their true faces here.there is nothing more superior than religion, not even institutions.too many inconsistencies in witness accounts after 10 years lol. what a joke.this case was crystal clear.sad affairs.

HALLELUJAH! IMPRISONED ASIA BIBI ACQUITTED OF BLASPHEMY CHARGES IN PAKISTAN
Emily Jones : Oct 31, 2018 : CBN News

Christians are urged to continue praying even as Bibi is released from prison as, in the past, other prisoners freed on blasphemy charges have been murdered by Islamic extremists. For their safety, it is believed she and her family will seek asylum in a Western country.

Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar announced the long-awaited verdict. She's reportedly been taken to an undisclosed location and some expect she and her family will leave the country.

Her husband, Ashiq Masih, praised the court's decision.

"I am very happy. My children are very happy. We are grateful to God. We are grateful to the judges for giving us justice. We knew that she is innocent," he said.

The 51-year-old Christian mother was arrested in 2009 after her Muslim co-workers accused her of insulting the Muslim prophet Mohammed—an offense punishable by death in Pakistan.

Bibi says she was falsely accused and is very respectful of Muslims and Mohammed.

The alleged incident occurred when Bibi took a sip of water while she was working. Her Muslim colleagues accused her of contaminating the water because she was a Christian.

She's been sitting in prison ever since with the threat of execution hanging over her head.

Human rights activists have been actively seeking her release over the past several years to repeal the Pakistani court's death sentence.

No Pakistani Christian has been held on blasphemy charges longer than Bibi. If she had lost her final appeal, she could have been put to death.

Pakistan's 295-C blasphemy law is based on sharia (Islamic law), which mandates execution for those found guilty of committing blasphemy against the prophet Mohammed.

Even with the court's decision to free her, she is likely not safe.

Other prisoners freed on blasphemy charges have been murdered by Islamic extremists. Muslim radicals assassinated former Punjab Governor Salman Taseer and Shahbaz Bhatti in 2011. Both men supported Bibi and had called for an end to Pakistan's Blasphemy Law.

"Clearly, she will need asylum in a Western country where she can live out the remainder of her days in peace," Wilson Chowdhry, chairman of the British Pakistani Christians Association, told CBN News."These charges have been proven false time and again and it is time for her to return home to her family."

The Church in Pakistan is urging Believers around the world to pray for Bibi and her family.

In 2016, her family gave a statement from Bibi to an Italian newspaper, La Stampa, saying, "I forgive my persecutors, those who have falsely accused me, and I await their forgiveness ... I do not hate those who did me wrong."

...Asia Bibi appeared to be in state of disbelief after hearing the decision from her lawyer.

"I can't believe what I am hearing, will I go out now? Will they let me out, really?" Ms Bibi said from prison after the ruling.

"I just don't know what to say, I am very happy, I can't believe it."

...Ms Bibi's lawyer on Wednesday called the court ruling "great news" for Pakistan.

"Asia Bibi has finally been served justice," lawyer Saiful Mulook said. "Pakistan’s Supreme Court must be appreciated that it upheld the law of the land and didn't succumb to any pressure."

Street protests were spreading by mid-afternoon, paralysing parts of Islamabad, Lahore and other cities.

Insulting Islam's prophet is punishable by death under Pakistani law, and blasphemy accusations stir such emotions that they are almost impossible to defend against.

Dozens have been killed following blasphemy claims, sometimes by mobs of men.

Rights groups say the blasphemy law is exploited by religious extremists as well as ordinary Pakistanis to settle personal scores.

Landmark case
During the appeal hearing on October 8, a three-member panel of Supreme Court justices appeared to question the case against Asia Bibi, with Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, considered Pakistan's top expert in criminal law, listing flaws in the proceedings.

"I don't see any derogatory remarks vis-a-vis the holy Koran as per the FIR," added Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, referring to the initial complaint filed in the case.

Approximately 40 people are believed to be on death row or serving a life sentence in Pakistan for blasphemy, according to a 2018 report by the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom.

Leading rights groups have long criticised the legislation, saying it is routinely abused to justify censorship, persecution, and even murder of minorities.

In recent years, it has also been weaponised to smear dissenters and politicians.

Well done saquib Nisar!! That took guts. Over to khadim rizvi. Hope she gets political asylum in Europe immediately for her own safety.
Absolutely you are right pal.It took guts in a country like pakistan to take a decision like this. Our saqib nisar should be a role model when it comes to deliver justice because such a decision is putting his life and reputation in danger.
This is just another example which shows pakistan has a secular future and it is slowly reverting back to jinnahs pakistan i.e secular state.People like @Zarvan have no future in this country.
