What's new

"Saudia Arabia says days of unconditional foreign aid are now over"

What is happening is good
It’s change caused by fresh blood characterized by progressive though
Yes it will hurt pakistan , we were trapped and allowed ourselves to be trapped in renteir /Islamic brother/slave economy
We didn’t leverage our human /mineral resource properly and kept our human resource & economy hostage to one nation
We should look for fresh ideas, progressive thinking, open our borders to china & iran
Stop sponsoring establishment led terrorism & political/economic mismanagement
We should look to be progressive inclusive partner in global economics

Those days of Islamic nuclear bomb / ummah are over
It’s all about money expertise leverage

I cannot speak for everyone but the people I know in the UK have supported brothers, sisters, cousins, neices, nephews - helped build houses, setup businesses, buy farmland.

Almost everyone has a story of being ripped off by the very same relatives.
ripped off isnt the word uk ppl work their asses off with bad health while relatives abroad are on adventure chills eating away at the money sent to them and behave like it is their right to ripp off.

Saudis have a point. Why continue unconditional aid to pak when the govt refuses to push reforms? Saudi itself has increased taxes, gas prices on its citizens. They have took heat for modernizing yet our economic managers are more interested in rupee/dollar parity continue to bleed foreign reserves

With loan with low interest rate? Oil with buy now pay after 3 months or 1 year or deposit funds in the bank that you cannot use and pay back after 1 year?

Which one is an aid?
All of them are; because free market does not afford you any of those instruments otherwise.

A loan with a low-interest rate is aiding your financial pursuit. Or else you would pay more for BPS for any other regular avenue. You also prefer these soft loans from KSA, and not from ADB or WB because of the same reason.

Interest-free deferred payments, too are aid because of friendly terms. If the same player tells you pay on delivery, it would strain your already fragile reserves as well as you avoid interest on payments owed for three months- So yes that too is "aid".

Deposits in your Bank ensure that you don't go insolvent given the massive mismanagement your leadership has indulged in. They have no obligation to do so, they are doing it to keep you afloat, so yes literally an "aid" from avoiding your banking system from drowning.

Only a fool will provide unconditional help in the first place(even if you have lots of spare cash ). You should always prioritise your country's national interests and invest in countries which can provide you with a high/maximum return on investment or provide you geopolitical support for your interest. So to be honest, as things stands today, it makes little sense for KSA to keep providing unconditional support financially to countries who dont align with their national interets. Its only normal and every sane country will do the same. So i see nothing wrong here.
Same goes with Lebanon, KSA and gulf states should stop providing them any financial aid like they have been doing for decades now. Let the militias Hezbollah who styles themselves as Lebanon's quasi "shadow government/protector "manage the country since they have hijacked the country for a while now. I see no reason to keep providing financial aid. Things like this should stop.

Iran(their main patron) should finance and bail out that failed state.

A very good development. This colonial beggar establishment didn't help KSA in yemen because of US pressure, and then have the audacity to beg for dollars from KSA. Even the US gave nothing after using these dumb generals like tissues.
More so because of Irani partisans in our midst

By the way i would really urge my Pakistani Brothers to once visit the gulf countries and see by there own eyes what they have built, The patriotism of there locals, the loyalty towards the state, the state of thr art Militaries they have developed. Their diplomatic outreach to all parts of the world.
Why do we have this preception that Gulf states are dependent on us for security?

I mean they keep defense relations with all muslim countries with exception of Turkey who are solely involved with Qatar and Iran who is enemy of all. Even Bangladesh Army have close ties with KSA. Even India have so much business interests. People cannot even imagine the scale of Business GCC arabs and Indian Businessmen are doing together.
Even if people believe this hilarious belief that these Gulfies are weak and dont have good armies who dont want to fight, Do you people think if some threat comes to gulf directly all these powerfull people from all parts of the world who have so much financial interests in Gulf will let their relations and investments go to ruin and sit quitely?

Plus We have no reason to hate them. Gulf is probably the easiest part of developed world where we have easy access to do business earn and develope our country from that money. Plain Business no love/Hate
That's the chooran our low IQ duffer generals have sold to the even lower IQ masses that is we are a indispensable nation.

I remember their aid after the nuclear test but refrained from mentioning to keep the post short.

But most of the Aid that you are talking about is incorrect reporting in the media. It has always been the “soft loan” or “buy oil now pay later” like terms and conditions. We have always paid back the loan the media used to report as “aid”.

PS: No I was not a toddler, in fact I was present on this forum in 2005 onward arguing about the same that the media incorrectly report loan as aid.

As far as I know it was after the nuclear tests with assuring from Saudi Arabia provided before the tests were conducted as they were in favour of Pakistan testing the nuclear bomb.

But that is also 24 years ago… welcome to 2023
You don't remember because you were probably toddler in 90s and early 2000s.
Just thinking about the audit report on how much we owe towards SA in deferred payments gives me chills.
The Arab guy was referring to the classified undocumented money supplied to ISI for it's clandestine activities in India just because Pakistan is a Muslim country. Don't worry. Arabs have short memories. They will forget the Yemen disappointment and the Palestine let-down by Pakistan and resume helping their Muslim brethern.
