Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia’’s crown prince, on Friday defended China’s use of concentration camps for Muslims, saying it was Beijing’s “right”.

"China has the right to carry out anti-terrorism and de-extremisation work for its national security,” Prince Mohammed, who has been in China signing multi-million trade deals much to the annoyance of his Western allies, was quoted as saying on Chinese state television.

Xi Jinping, China’s leader, told the crown prince the two countries must strengthen international cooperation on de-radicalisation to “prevent the infiltration and spread of extremist thinking”.

China has detained an estimated one million Uighur Muslims in concentration camps, where they are undergoing re-education programmes allegedly intended to combat extremism.

The Uighur are an ethnic Turkic group that practices Islam and lives in Western China and parts of Central Asia.

Beijing has accused the minority in its Western Xinjiang region of supporting terrorism and implemented a surveillance regime.

Uighur groups had appealed to Saudi’s powerful young prince to take up their cause, as the ultraconservative kingdom has traditionally been a defender of the rights of Muslims worldwide.

But Muslim leaders have so far not broached the issue with China, which has in recent years become an important trading partner with the Middle East.


Hami Aksoy, a spokesperson for Turkey's Foreign Office, however described China's treatment of its Uighur population as "a great cause of shame for humanity" last month and asked it to close the "concentration camps".


President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had once accused China of "genocide" but has since established closer diplomatic and economic relations with Beijing.

Imran Khan, prime minister of Pakistan, where Prince Salman has just visited, said he “did not know” much about the conditions of the Uighurs.

China has many more Muslim minorities.
The biggest Muslim minority is Hui (about 20~30M), they are everywhere within Chinese territory. We never have problem with them.
Other muslim minorities, Khazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Tajiks, Tatars, Salars, Dongxiang etc...... We don't have any problems with them. They are treat well, and way better than majority Han, to an unfair extent, so don't blabering shits like "Chinese suppress Muslims", it is just the opposite.
We majorities are suppressed since the CPC just want to satisfy minorities like Tito did in Yugoslavia.
And of course this is not for Turkic groups. Khazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Tatars, Salars are all Turkic.
And of course not for all Uighurs, but only for the radical ones, whom will be identified as terrorists for any other country.
We only show our iron fist to separatists and terrorists.
Stop meaningless and unfair accusation like this.

I remember few days/weeks ago a Chinese member posted a Video of Terror attacks that happen in Chinese Province over the years, from the looks of it if these Extremists are openly slaughtering people including Chinese and Muslims , Than China has right to put them in RE-EDUCATIONAL CAMPS, we did that in Pakistan as well, many TTP and AQ fighters were re-educated and than Army even force them to Build the Infrastructure they blow up

Well I usually don't make judgments on Youtube or POV interviews , we have seen them to be fake over the decades, I do have some reservations over the Muslims in China, but I would not Pass judgments until my Govt feel its time to talk about these Camps with China, we Pakistani are overly and Stupidly emotional, we just follow others like dumb sheep's . If there is a ongoing extremism in Chinese Province, than we have to understand that their will be innocent people who will get targeted , we saw that happen in whole of ME and Afghanistan and even in Pakistan. May Allah help those who are in need of help, and May Allah Help Muslims to unite under his commands and religion .
