KARACHI: Advanced Electronics Company (AEC), a Saudi-based technology solutions provider, will set up a solar energy farms project in different parts of Sindh to help the province overcome the energy crisis.

According to a handout from the Chief Minister House, the announcement was made after a meeting between AEC President Dr Ghassan Al Shibl and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah.

It was decided that the AEC would finance the energy projects that would set up the solar energy farms, ranging from 300 to 500 megawatts (MW).

The AEC also announced that it would provide 200,000 water meters to Karachi, while also allotting several UPS systems to other parts of the province.

Shah welcomed the development, saying that it would not only help overcome the energy crisis but also strengthen the cordial relations with Saudi Arabia.

“The decision will prove a milestone towards the development in Sindh,” said Shah. The minister also assured the management of the AEC of ‘complete support, cooperating in the setting up of the project’.
