Workshop on the Project of Saudi Students Experiments in the International Space Station
A workshop under the banner of Saudi Experiments in the International Space Station will be launched at KASTs headquarters tomorrow Monday through which the project of scientific cooperation between KAST and the ministry of Education will be announced. This project targets providing the chance for Saudi students to conduct their researches and participate in scientific experiments conducted in the International Space Station.
Participants in this workshop will elaborate on the importance of this project that represents a vital experiment to Saudi students as it works to integrate them in this essential field, identify the climate of research and scientific experiments, and reveal aspects of Saudi students creativity, thus enhancing their future attitudes towards knowledge and important sciences that the kingdom industriously seeks to inseminate in young generation who are the pillar of the future.
This workshop will be a starting point for other steps and projects that will be a productive tool to promote industrial competitiveness in the Kingdom develop Saudi talents and instill innovation methodology in students in the context of achieving objectives of the Comprehensive National Plan for Science, Technology and Innovation.
The project works to empower the educational community in the Kingdom to enter the International Space Station and the American National Laboratory affiliated to this station through capabilities of Nanorex Incorporation that allow nanolab researches that secure the opportunity to perform many researches in various fields such as biological pharmacology, and materials science and nanotechnology besides using these researches as a research- base for long-term tasks.
In this scientific project, KACST cooperates with the scientific Nanorex Incorporation that is a leader in the field of commercial research in space in a program t Saudi students and extends for years in order to enable them to develop and implement laboratory experiments in the American National laboratories aboard the International Space Station.
Nanorex Incorporation was selected by KACST after the incorporation signed an agreement with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in 2009 that allowed NASA to carry out and develop its researches in the American. National Laboratory.
