  • Saudi Arabia has signed a letter of offer and acceptance with the United States for Lockheed Martin's THAAD missile system.
  • It's a significant step forward in the $15 billion deal, a State Department spokesperson confirmed to CNBC.
  • Saudi officials, alongside their U.S. counterparts, signed the crucial government-to-government agreement earlier this week, paving the way for the massive sale of 44 THAAD launchers, missiles and related equipment.

. . . . .
Its a strange cycle
1. Israel asks US follows it
2. US asks SA follows it
3. SA asks Pakistan follows it

Why not Israel ask Pakistan directly why so many agents in between ?

Not any more. Pakistan is now free from US political pressure as they have smartly aligned themselves to China. CPEC is not something US is happy about as it expands Chinese clout. Similarly, JF-17 and the future acquisitions of Chinese-developed next generation combat and civil platforms will make Pakistan even less dependent on USA.

Once the F-16s are retired, they will most likely be replaced with something like J-10B or something new altogether.

Not to mention Y-20 which is set to become the second largest international military transport aircraft now that Boeing has stopped C-17 for now. The PAF C-130s would be retired in abotu 5 years from now, which would be replaced by most likely Y-20s.

for Pakistan relation with China is like higher & deeper & sweeter thing but for China relation with Pakistan is a business nothing else and all around the world every superpower does that. China will not sacrifice its business with US & SA for few $ of Pakistan or India, unless mutual trade cross, trillion $ mark or Millions of Barrels of Fuels.

Pakistan free of US political pressure is myth it can happen only on dreams not in reality, even China will not allow Pakistan to get out of US pressure.

MBS seems very desperate and panicking, producing extra milk for his Washington masters these days
Remind him that Uncle Sam has a habit of turning his back with the blink of an eye. Perhaps he has forgotton all those strong dictators who were once a blue eyed boys but than US abandoned them...

hmmmm those are some fine points you raised my friend. But i have to partially disagree on point 3 remember Yemen conflict , we didnt send the army on KSA request even when they gave 1-2 billion as "Gift" to Nawaz Sharif. but who knows what is going on behind the curtains. I'm just another keyboard warrior like anyone else
