Pakistan to continue to work for peace, prosperity of Muslim Ummah
Sartaj says peace, stability in South Asia not possible without just resolution of the Indian Occupied Kashmir dispute.
Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to work for peace, progress and prosperity of Muslim Ummah.
Addressing the 44th Session of OIC Foreign Ministers at Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said Muslim Ummah must redouble its efforts to strengthen fraternal ties and mutual cooperation to ensure peace, solidarity and progress.
He said peace and development would remain elusive if the international community fails to address longstanding unresolved political issues, like Palestine and Indian Occupied Kashmir.
The Advisor said peace and stability in South Asia is not possible without just resolution of the Indian Occupied Kashmir dispute.
He also reiterated Pakistan's commitment to support efforts for lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, the OIC Contact Group on Indian Occupied Kashmir met on the sidelines of 44th session of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Abidjan with OIC Secretary General Yousaf A. Al-Othaimeen in the chair.
The Group reiterated its unequivocal support to the Kashmir freedom struggle and condemned Indian barbarism in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
It reaffirmed OIC's continued support to the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir in their just struggle for realization of their right to self-determination as enshrined in the UN Security Council resolutions.
