Saree & ‘Osari’ are Muslim attires from Middle East - SB

The ‘Saree’ and the ‘Osari’ are attires that were originally worn by Muslims, says UPFA Parliamentarian S.B. Dissanayake.

Addressing an event held today (20), the parliamentarian said these dresses hailed from the Middle East and were later adapted by India.

Muslim women have been branded as ‘inactive machines for reproducing offspring’ claims the parliamentarian.

He further calls for the general public to create an environment in which the Muslim women can live in harmony with other ethnicities.

MP Dissanayake requested the Moulavis and educated Muslims not to make attempts to separate the Muslim community from the majority.

So from biryani to saree, shalwar, kurta...everything was brought by Muslims to the subcontinent...

Don't know about India, but redda and hatte was the SLn ladies attire.

Show example of Saree in Middle East. This guy is trying multiple target practice with the same bullet. On one hand he wants separate identity from India, on the other hand wants no ME influence. No direct attack on India but utilizing unrelated sentiment directed at his agenda.

Similar garments to the saree were developed in almost every civilization. The saree was in no way brought to India by Muslims, since it was worn long before Islam was created.
So from biryani to saree, shalwar, kurta...everything was brought by Muslims to the subcontinent...
So how do you explain the thousands of years of South Asian culture, civilization, and achievements in various fileds long before Islam was even a religion?
