Sardar udham - Movie -

I don't have Amazon Prime and unfortunate that it is not released in the cinemas.

What Udham Singh, Bhagat Singh and others fought for, is this the divided, warring and anti-progress Subcontinent they thought for, agitated for and fought for ?

Can't say, but what they have done to Dehli on farmer protests, or CAA and NRC law, if they were alive!!
Or on farmers suicide? For that matter, against CPI corruption?

Bhagat Singh was a sensitive young man who was a voracious reader until the moment of his death. I quote from my thread on his 113th birthday last year :
I will conclude with the last moments of Bhagat Singh’s life, as reported by his close associate Manmathnath Gupta, he writes:

“When called upon to mount the scaffold, Bhagat Singh was reading a book by Lenin or on Lenin. He continued his reading and said, ‘Wait a while. A revolutionary is talking to another revolutionary’. Bhagat Singh continued to read. After a few moments, he flung the book towards the ceiling and said, ‘Let us go’.” [Emphasis added]

This is the true legacy of Bhagat Singh which we need to commemorate. He read all possible revolutionary or even anarchic literature to build his vision of independent India. It also tells us why we need to listen to those who read and write; they may imagine India differently, but they do not deserve to be punished for what they read or write.
So about the farmer protests he would certainly have asked why has no government person, especially the prime minister, visited even one protest site in the ten or so months since it started and given that more than 400 protesters have died during the protests of various causes.

And about that ridiculous tallest-in-the-world statue of Vallabhbhai Patel in Gujarat, Bhagat would have certainly said that 370 million dollars have been wasted on building the statue when so many Indians don't have food, are homeless and suffer from avoidable ill health.

Same about NRC and CAA. They agitated for all Indians, not just for Sikhs and Hindus.

Same about farmer suicides.

The people of subcontinent are shortsighted. We separated our lands instead of letting others live. RSS divided India once, and it will do it again. And "Muslim League" will always be available on-demand.

So as I said before, maps in South Asia are about to change. Better buy a gun.

I have a huge regard for Udham Singh ...let's see whether this movie has also been connected to the partition or no ....An Indian movie can be about carrots and turnips ...but one way or another they would link it to the independence of Pakistan using the term 'batwara' time and again ...

I do have Amazon Prime but haven't watched the movie. Many of my friends have though and their opinion is mostly positive on the acting and technical film-making aspects.

Do read the review article I linked in post# 6. It doesn't reveal the plot details yet manages to have an educated opinion about the film and also the current situation in India.

Later in his life he used to identify as Mohammad Singh Azad. This is a Sikh guy with Muslim influence. Hindus are cowards.

It doesn't matter any more what they fought for. What there is, is what there is. We have to live with the here-and-now.
