Sam Chui, the International passenger flights expert, flew to Skardu in the Northern area of Pakistan. Elevation 7400 feet.

This is one of the most scenic and exciting flights in Pakistan, and possibly in this region.

Is it true that flying in and out of Skardu is so challenging that only senior pilots fly the route and only after receiving special training?

It is as difficult - as is the approach to Paro in Bhutan.

Absolutely remarkable video, and did not know that Skardu went IFR.

IFR will still be dicey in foggy cloudy conditions (given the 7400 ft. altitude), with almost no time to react with terrain so close and looming everywhere.

And it will receive international flights. Guessing probably flights from China.

The new runway is supposed to be 6 KM long, which is an eye opener.

Did I hear that wrong? This is supposedly one of the longest and highest runways in the world.
