Popular reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ recently concluded its journey and Nobel bagged the third position jointly with Preetam Roy. Soon after his achievement, Nobel, who hails from neighbouring Bangladesh, has stirred up a controversy.
According to him, Prince Mahmud’s popular song ‘Bangladesh’ is better than Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘Amar Sonar Bangla’.
Interestingly, Tagore’s ‘Amar Sonar Bangla’ is the national anthem of Bangladesh. In a recent interview to a channel, Nobel reportedly shared his opinion that Mahmud has depicted the beauty of Bangladesh far better than the song ‘Amar Sonar Bangla’.
He also expressed his doubt over selecting ‘Amar Sonar Bangla’ as their National Anthem. This has not only triggered a controversy but also hurt the sentiments of common Bengali people.
A number of singers like Iman Chakraborty, Rupam Islam have shared their discontent with Nobel’s controversial comment.
Nobel was one of the popular contents of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’. Right from his first performance to his last, Nobel was judges’ favourite.
Thanks to his voice texture and range, Nobel received performer of the day and performer of the week several times. This year Ankita Bhattacharyya won the title of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’.
