Russian navy ship arrives in Karachi for joint drill

KARACHI - A Russian navy ship with a helicopter onboard arrived at Karachi port to participate in joint counter narcotics exercise “Arabian Monsoon-2015” in the North Arabian Sea.


The Russian ship “Admiral Kulakov” would help in enhancing maritime collaboration between Pakistan and Russia. It was received by senior officials of Pakistan Navy (PN) and Russian defence officials in Pakistan, a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) here on Friday said.
During the visit, the Russian commanding officer will call on senior officials of Pakistan Navy to discuss matters relating to mutual interests, exchange of visits by naval personnel and friendly sports activities between the two sides.


The visit by Russian naval ship is in line with the policies of the government of Pakistan for promoting peace and security in the region.
